Introducing Shinnyo-en.
Shinnyo-en is a global Buddhist community founded on the time-honored wisdom and compassion embodied in the Buddha's teachings. Building on twenty-five centuries of tradition, Shinnyo-en teaches laypeople to use each day as an opportunity to seek enlightenment through interaction with others, reflection and taking positive action.
The Buddhist term shinnyo denotes both "buddhahood" (spiritual awakening) and the nature of reality; en refers to a border less garden or space open to all. Shinnyo-en is a place for people to discover and develop the buddha, or awakened nature, within themselves through learning to apply altruistic Buddhist principles in everyday life. The practices and teachings of this path are called Shinnyo Buddhism.

Shinnyo Buddhist endeavor to promote the values of peaceful coexistence and cooperation i how they try to live each day.Shinnyo-en also places great value on the contributions that each individual can make toward a better world. Everyone is encouraged to cherish one's uniqueness and offer it in service to others. Shinnyo-en's diverse membership and philanthropic foundations als reflect this belief that everyone can contribute to make a better world and that we can best cultivate buddhahood together.
