Fantasy Premier League - Analysis of Top 15 Players for Each Position

in #sfpl7 years ago

Earlier today I posted about the optimal teams of the last 5, 10 and 15 gameweeks respectively. After posting I decided to do some further analysis of the top 15 players for each position, but this time instead of letting my program do the work, I'd do it myself!

To help with this analysis I've created some images with some useful statistics about each player.

As you can see Pope leads the amount of points scored per 90 minutes, despite costing £1.1m less than runner-up de Gea. Pickford's form has also really increased these last 5 gameweeks, racking up a very impressive total of 36 points. At an even lower price point Ryan and Fabianski have also been performing incredibly well and are also definitely viable options. With so many viable and cheap options, alongside de Gea, you shouldn't be looking at Courtois (too expensive) or Ederson (takes up a valuable Man City spot).

Must-have: Pope or de Gea
Great options: Pickford, Ryan and Fabianski
Avoid: Courtois and Ederson

Davies tops the points scored per 90 minutes, but he's not an option for me. He is rotated too often and should be avoided, in my opinion. Tarkowski seems like a good option, but unfortunately he has been charged with violent conduct by the FA and so should also be avoided. The only real must-haves in my opinion are Otamendi and Jones, the former being a goal threat whilst also not conceding many and the latter starting for a Mourinho team, which speaks for itself, while only costing £5.4m. Other good options are obviously Chelsea defenders like Alonso, or even Christensen who isn't on this list. You might want to avoid Azpilicueta though, since his price is pretty high for someone not returning the points.

Must-have: Jones and Otamendi
Great options: Monreal, Mee and Alonso
Avoid: Azpilicueta and Davies

David Silva has been on a crazing run of form recently, but with some speculation about his future playing time (family problems keeping him out) you shouldn't look to transfer him in if you don't already own him. Obviously Salah has been the king of midfield, but with Coutinho emerging as another great option for a Liverpool midfielder, maybe that will change in the future considering their difference in price. On the other hand you have Ramsey who has been injured for a while, but before that was playing great. If he can come back with the same form as he had pre-injury he is definitely a great option. A cheap and surprising option is Doucoure, who has been really well all season, definitely get him if you don't have that much money in the bank. In the same team the once essential Richarlison has hit a rough patch of form and should be avoided, and the same goes for Groß.

Must-have: Salah (or Coutinho), and any Man City midfielder you can fit in
Good options: Ramsey and Doucoure
Avoid: Richarlison and Groß

If you read my previous post you'd know that expensive forwards should be avoided, and that is also reflected in the image above. All the expensive forwards are sitting towards the bottom of the table, and are obviously not providing the value that they should. On the other hand, the two forwards from Everton have been performing great recently, and are both actually great options (who would've thought that at the start of the season). Another great option who has gone under the radar a tiny bit is Firmino, who has been sharing points with Salah and Coutinho. Surprisingly Depoitre and Okazaki, who both don't start regularly, have emerged as a viable option for a 3rd forward who can come off the bench if one of your midfielders doesn't play for example.

Must-have: Rooney or DCL and Firmino
Great options: Depoitre and Okazaki
Avoid: Kane, Jesus, Aguero, Lukaku and Lacazette

does this system work for nba and american football

If you could get the data for their players I don't see why not! Personally I don't really know much about NBA or American football so I could be wrong.
