Contest: My Worst Hospital Story

Hello Everyone !

I am @hudamalik20 from Pakistan. I hope you all are doing great in your life. Today, I am participating in the contest "My Worst Hospital Story," organized by @dexsyluz, and I will be sharing my worst hospital experience, which I have never shared before on Steemit.

Tell us your worst hospital story.

Hospitals are not places anyone goes to happily. My mother always says, no one goes to a hospital by choice ,only when we're really sick or in pain. Whenever we pass by a government hospital and see the huge crowd, she reminds me of this. And truly, the environment around hospitals always feels heavy and emotional to me.

My worst hospital experience happened a few years ago when I had an infection in my throat, which later turned into tuberculosis (TB). In our country, proper treatment for TB is only available in government hospitals, so we had no other option but to go there.

Before going to the hospital, we had already tried to understand what was wrong. We got some local tests done because the illness was not making any sense. At first, I was just taking medicine from a nearby doctor, but even after completing the course, there was no improvement in my health. That’s when we decided to send my reports for further testing elsewhere to figure out which illness it was, because despite taking medicine, I was not recovering at all.

As soon as we reached the government hospital, there was a huge crowd. We had to wait in a long line for hours. When finally our turn came, the doctor didn’t even check me properly. Instead of comforting us, he scared us.

He said you had a very dangerous disease and that I must eat separately, use separate utensils, and stay isolated. My mother and I got extremely frightened. We had never heard of this disease before and no one in our family had ever suffered from anything like it.

After that, they told us I would need to be admitted to the hospital. When we entered the ward, the condition there was heartbreaking. So many patients were lying even two at a time on a single stretche..

The environment was unhygienic, the sheets were old and dirty, and the room felt neglected. The nurses were rude and didn’t treat us kindly. Maybe it’s because it was a government hospital, but their attitude made us feel like we didn’t matter.

I was very scared. I kept thinking, “Why did this happen to me?” That day felt like the most difficult day of my life.

Thankfully, my mother called my father, and with someone’s help, he managed to get me discharged from that hospital. Then we shifted to a private clinic for further treatment.

Even today, the thought of going to a government hospital scares me deeply. It was truly the worst hospital experience of my life.

Who were the people who were there during that process?

During that difficult time at the hospital, it was just me and my mother. She’s a very sensitive person by nature. Even small things make her worry a lot.

At first, we thought it was just a simple throat infection, but when we found out it was TB, and that the treatment would be long and serious and available only in government hospital, my mother got extremely scared.

We were both trying to comfort each other, but honestly, it was very hard. The hospital environment itself was so depressing and scary that even our words of comfort couldn’t help much.

We were already stressed after hearing about the illness, and thenn seeing the condition of the patients deeing them in pain made things even worse. I kept thinking, “If they admit me here, how will we survive in this situation?”

That day, both of us were in deep tension. We were holding onto each other, trying to stay strong, but inside we were broken. Even today, when I think about that hospital and that moment, that memory come rushing back.

So I don’t have any pictures from that time in the hospital because it happened around six years ago. Back then, I didn’t even have a cellphone just some painful memories I shared that still stay with me.

That's it from today’s blog. I hope you liked it. With best wishes. Now I would like to invite:
@neelofar, @norat, @aviral123 to participate in this amazing contest.

Thanks a lot for reading.

Assalamualaikum Dear @hudamalik20,

I am very sorry to read your sad story. Yes, you are right, the environment in the government hospital in our city is very bad, we do not get good facilities here.

The hospital cleaners do not clean the hospital properly. There is such a bad smell that it is difficult for a person to even enter the hospital.

When our grandfather got sick, we had to take him there, but we were discharge from there quickly because the facilities weren't very good.

The medical staff working here do not perform their duties properly, which is why there are no good facilities here.

Many patients die because doctors don't arrive on time. And there comes the nurse's for enjoyment. They take leave early.

The person who loves us the most in this world is our mother and helps us in difficult times and takes care of us.

And we should value them because without them there is nothing in this world and we should also value our father. Because both of them are a great blessing for us in this world.

May Allah always protect your parents and always protect my parents and may their shadow always be upon us, Amen and Amen. Eid Mubarak sister 🎁🎊🎁.

Walaikum Assalam dear sister,
Thank you so much for your kind and caring comment. I really felt each and every word you wrote. Yes, you are right the condition of our government hospitals is really bad, and it hurts to see how people suffer there. I’m sorry to know about your grandfather too, and I understand how painful it must have been for you all.

And yes, our parents, especially our mothers, are the biggest blessings from Allah. My mom stood by me like a strong wall in those tough days. May Allah always keep our parents safe, healthy, and happy. Ameen.
Eid Mubarak to you too, my lovely sister. May this Eid bring lots of peace and joy to your home.🤗♥️💖🎊🌹

lamento mucho lo que paso con me medico que vio tu caso, suele pasar que después del covid las personas (el persona medico) se volvió muy poco sensible a las personas enfermas, es raro ver a un medico que de verdad se duela por la persona que esta enferma

saludos
gracias por participar!

Thank you so much for your kind and comment. You're right after COVID, some medical professionals lost a bit of their sensitivity toward patients. I'm truly grateful for your support and understanding. It means a lot that you took the time to read and connect with my story.
Sending warm wishes your way🤗🌼🎊🌹

Thank you so much for your support 🤗🌼..I am really grateful..
