Well alright, perhaps the machines are not going to be taking over as yet but researchers at Facebook were forced to shut down the A.I. project after two bots invented their own language!

Blockchain technology is just one of the marvelous inventions that mankind is blessed enough to experience but perhaps even more intriguing field is the one belonging to artificial intelligence. I mean who of us haven't seen any of the Schwarzenegger's Terminator movies and thought about the possibility of this actually becoming a reality? Well alright, perhaps the machines are not going to be taking over as yet but researchers at Facebook were forced to shut down the A.I. project after two bots invented their own language!

Artificial Intelligence Bots Alice & Bob Communicate In Own Language

All begun when developers at Facebook decided to build chatbots that could negotiate after learning from human behavior and barter in a similar manner but the things got really interesting when they decided to have two separate projects perform an exchange between each other!

Bots were designed to perform trades and negotiate better deals but since there was no actual reward assigned for performing the task in English the artificial intelligence agents quickly invented their own form of communication and proceeded to use that in order to speed and ease up the process. We must admit that no human termination notes were passed along between the robots but because the language was quite difficult to decipher researchers decided to pull the plug until appropriate protocols are written to govern the interactions.

Quantum Computers And The Blockchain Technology

It would appear like the threats of computers taking over is rather slim, at least for now but how about the quantum computing power that is actively being researched and developed as we speak? One of the most recent quantum computer projects of MIT is said to put current encryption protocols to shame but could it potentially disrupt the blockchain network as well?

Well, anything is possible, however, as of right now we do not need to worry because the size of the apparatus is rather small and could not compete with the hash power necessary but as the time goes by and it gets bigger and therefore more powerful the playing ground would only have a chance if they upgrade their system to quantum computers as well.

Evolution of technology is overwhelming and in general works towards the progress of mankind but in some cases, our own inventions might work against us in the long-term.
