Sociological approach to anxiety

Humanity throughout its history in different parts of the world have been applying empirically a knowledge that is part of their culture and have served to manage the emotional balance, so that very common problems today such as anxiety have been treated taking as a starting point the fear that has the human being as a survival mechanism.

The most emblematic during all this period is the fact that the philosophy of the hand Socrates, Plato could leave as a written testimony the importance of the dialogues with our inner self for therapeutic way to begin to heal the soul of many and where their fears was an important part of this study.

If there is something that should call humanity's attention, it is that in ancient times we did not hear anyone say that they suffered from anxiety, indeed that word was not even named, as it was not part of the usual vocabulary of the people of that time.

So why do we hear so much nowadays that people suffer from anxiety?

First it is important to clarify that the understanding of the concepts is very important, since the existing form that the people of the antiquity did not name the word anxiety does not mean that they did not feel it, the most probable thing is that if they felt anxiety but they did not know it with that name.

The way in which society evolved is fundamental to explain this phenomenon of understanding anxiety, since it was from modernism that some societies began to use the name of anxiety to describe some psychological patterns, fear is one of them, however it is most likely that man continues to evolve and the various societies continue to adopt new concepts and perceptions of reality that make it add new psychological patterns to the concept of anxiety.
