Why, if human beings are reflective, are there some topics that they avoid reflecting on?
It is not a secret that the human being is reflective by nature, some of us are more reflective than others, but in the end it is a human quality, however there are some issues on which some people avoid reflecting, that despite the fact that the reflective helps us to overcome and grow as a person.
What happens is that we live based on that some facts of our life invites us to reflection, for example when a loved one dies we reflect on the facts of such event, but that same fact makes us avoid it, because everything that has to do with death causes us pain, so I think that everything that is in affectation with our feelings is something that we will avoid to reflect.
Although the mistakes we make help us to learn in the future, the mistakes of the past is a point on which people may not want to touch to reflect, it may be that someone reflects on a mistake he made at the time, however the simple fact of having to go back in time to remember the mistakes of the past and have to reflect on them, is something we will try to avoid.
It is difficult to find a person who reflects and meditates on their own fears, I think that is the reason why fears are so difficult to heal, to win the race against our fears we have to face them, and such confrontation requires constant reflection, but being fears it becomes a topic that many will not want to reflect on.
The conclusion of the case, is that I think that the more we avoid reflecting on some topic of our personal life, is when it becomes more important to reflect on those topics that we are used to avoid, because as much as it makes us uncomfortable, we must know that the reflection whose topics are painful or uncomfortable, are essential for our personal growth and the welfare of our emotions.
