The marscopter Ingenuity made its tenth flight in the Martian atmosphere, which again broke the record for complexity.

The drone rose to a height of 12 meters and visited 10 places of interest for geologists in 165 seconds, having received their images in color.

Ingenuity has worked on Mars for more than 107 sols (Martian days), although initially its life was estimated at 76 sols.

Now the Martian helicopter is working as part of an expanded scientific program and is engaged in photographic reconnaissance of the terrain for the Perseverance rover.

To date, the drone has flown ten flights, survived two major crashes, and received several dozen high-resolution color images of the surface of Mars and nearly a thousand black-and-white navigation images.

The tenth flight of the drone took place on July 24, 2021, during which the vehicle covered a record-breaking route, which included 10 separate points.

The drone flew along the Raised Ridges system, which began about 150 meters from the starting position of the helicopter.

The marscopter took color images of the ridges, which will be studied by geologists in the future.

The entire flight lasted 165 seconds and Ingenuity broke the record for flight altitude (12 meters instead of 10) and overcame the mark of one mile in total distance traveled on Mars.
