Society flows from individual sovereign people whose interaction creates social structures. Relatively few individuals then take responsibility (power) in key positions in these arrangements. Power corrupts, particularly immature individuals, who unfortunately are innately attracted to power. The implication is that individual Rights and sovereignty are best protected in smaller social networks, and increasingly vulnerable in larger. The megastructures that now exist have been largely shaped historically and contemporaneously by psychopaths and sociopaths, who control key junctures in the flow of wealth and influence through their cunning and ruthlessness. The only solution is urgent devolution of power, globally. Anything else, now, with the lethal toys our leading psycho/sociopaths can play with, will be the end of us and any worthwhile future for our children. Devolution time is upon us, so we can truly evolve.
