Rabbit and ladybug, near and in the garden; and, some music from my youth! :)steemCreated with Sketch.

The rabbit was in front of the garden fence; the ladybug was helpfully looking for aphids in the garden. :)

Ahem. I used "pestcontrol" as the final tag (because the fence visible in the background controls the rabbit, and the ladybugs control the aphids) -- and immediately recalled a song from college by Young Fresh Fellows, so I just listened to it and perhaps you will too! :) Note that there's a spoken part for 30 seconds before the music comes in (it's on the album as well, which I had back in college -- the entire album is excellent). This is "Rock and Roll Pest Control":

And, wild coincidence: a week ago I included a fair use (20 seconds) of a song by The Presidents of the United States of America, "Peaches" as a surprise bonus in the post about my friend's landlord's garden, which ends with a peach tree. As I was looking up the link for the above song, I found out that they also covered that song! And even cooler, the image during the song has the caption on it, "This one's for the Fellows!" :)

Great catch of the rabbit and the lady bug. I like this song and very cool that "The President's" covered it too! I'm not familiar with "The Fellows" but they remind me of one of my faves "Jonathan Richman." He's from Mass. and sings several songs about Boston. I went to see him play on campus when I was in college.

Nice! Love the Bawstin accent in it as well! :) Thanks for sharing!

One time I went to a local and privately owned nursery and purchased 1000 ladybugs to release at night. They stuck around for a couple of days.

Wow really, that was it? I've considered purchasing ladybugs (especially after last year's aphid infestation when I brought the tomato plants indoors so they could live longer!).

I also considered purchasing fireflies, but never did. I see a few of them now and again, and it'd be really neat to see more, but -- they need a food source, otherwise they'll go elsewhere. Perhaps that's what happened to yours?

That's a good thing, @briandenver. That means your pest population is low! They will only lay eggs where there's a food source. I released a small cup (800-1000) this year as well. Think I paid $8 for them.

Beautiful rabbit, you have a good place to plant somethings there now i know why you always post things about nature :)

Outstanding post and narrative.
Thanks for sharing such great post with us!
