Viltrox was among the first independent manufacturers to start producing autofocus lenses for the Fujifilm FX mount. And not just any lenses – top quality ones! This time they pleased us with a portrait lens, rejoice…
And Drama begins!

Choir: Wait a minute @Lighteye, who needs another portrait lens for Fujifilm? You have a bunch of them already. Watch this now. You have Fujifilm XF 50mm f/1.0 R WR, beautiful bokeh…

Me: Savagely expensive. $1500. And not sharp enough.

Choir:…you have three versions (R, APD, WR) of the Fujifilm 56mm f1.2 with a razor sharp image…

Me: A Grand. Still too expensive.

Choir: …then you have a Fujifilm XF 90mm f2 portrait lens with an aperture ring specially developed for grumpy old men…

Me: Yes, but that one is not flawlessly sharp.

Choir: Then get the Sigma 56mm f1.4 which is impeccably sharp and not expensive at all! Only $404!

Me: But it doesn’t have an aperture ring either…

And so we could circle endlessly: Will we never see the perfect portrait lens with a ring marked with a large aperture for nice bokeh, with impeccable sharpness and a reasonable price?

Choir: Well, that would be a bit of impossible, our dear @Lighteye!
