Today we will sort and bag the potatoes we picked yesterday. This is the main thing today. These potatoes are our seed potatoes, so we need to grade them and choose fresh and good potatoes, excluding rotten, stained, and cut potatoes.

Potatoes are being selected for seed.

Our workers are coming in the morning. I went with them with the sacks and showed them which potatoes to discard. We will try to save good quality potatoes as good seeds for our seeds. I spread the sacks on the field and the workers started sorting the potatoes.

Let me show you below which potatoes we will discard and which are not good for seeds which are not good quality as seeds.

We are discarding potatoes that have been eaten by insects, have spots, have viruses in them, and have been damaged by injury during harvesting.

Let's now show you which potatoes are best for seed and which grade we have selected.

We have classified our potato seeds into three categories so that if we later sell some of the seed potatoes, we can get a good price.

We sorted the potatoes till noon and put them in the sacks that were laid out, then we filled them first in net sacks and then in jute sacks. Our seed potatoes have increased more than expected. We have to sew the sacks well this time. We are doing double stitching for cold storage. As we sew, the workers are taking the potato sacks to the road. We worked till evening to take these seed potato sacks from the field to the road. We will take these potatoes to the cold storage today.

We are bringing our 150 bags of seed potatoes on the road and contacted the transport company and they will take our potatoes to the cold storage with a diesel powered power tiller. The trucks arrived at 8 pm and were loading the bags into their trucks. I have to go to the cold storage with them. When the truck was loaded, I climbed into the truck and went to the cold storage with the truck on top of the potato bags.

We reached the potato cold storage within an hour but we were surprised that we were 200 meters away from the cold storage because of this long line of potato carts. We arrived at the main gate of the storage 3 hours later at 12.30 am we entered the storage with our potatoes. I had already entered the potato storage and was seeing that there was so much potato that the cold storage authorities did not have any space to store the potatoes and the coolie workers of the storage were struggling.

Even though we went inside the potato storage, we have no place to store the potatoes and the coolies are not unloading the potatoes because they are working here for money to unload the potatoes, whereas this work is supposed to be done for free and the cold storage authorities will pay them. We unloaded the potatoes ourselves from the car at 2 am. But now there is no one to take the potatoes here, so I have to stay here for the night to guard the potatoes so that the potatoes do not mix with others. I told our cars to go home and I am planning to spend the night lying on the potato sacks in the potato storage.

I have to spend the night here and return in the morning after reporting it to the Alu Cold Storage authorities. Meanwhile, my mobile is out of charge and I have to spend the rest of the night alone and without my mobile. It will be very difficult for me to spend time alone without my mobile but there is no way I don't have a charger and no one here has one.
