Rejoice and be thankful for today
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. — 2 Corinthians 4:17
I remember a time when I was in India. A fellow traveler was having a very hard time with the distance that separated them from their children. A group of men then sang a song to her that has been a mantra of mine ever since, ESPECIALLY on Monday mornings. It goes as follows.
" This is the day
this is the day
this is the day that the Lord has made (that the Lord has made)
We will rejoice, (we will rejoice)
We will rejoice and be glad in it ( and be glad in it)
This is the day that the Lord has made,
We will rejoice and be glad in it
This is the day
This is the day
This is the day that the
Lord
has
made"
The sadness didn't leave immediately, but the attitude changed,
and the day turned out to be pretty special.
An Attitude of Gratitude determines ones altitude for living,
especially in ones relationship with the Lord!
