How to Tap Into Your Real Self
"My Real Self" is a phrase that resonated with me as I journeyed through life. Not until I was in my thirties, did I understand the full meaning of "My Real Self." In my mind I always thought of myself as "ME," with no other self or ego. It was only when I experienced my authentic self for the first time at forty that I recognized the momentousness of my real self. This led me to search for the root of the problem, which turned out to be ME.
In short, I discovered that I was an Authentic Self, one with all of the traits, attributes, and even uniqueness that I believed were unique to me. That's the " REAL "person" that I "really" am! What I discovered as I journeyed toward this discovery was that other people's perceptions of me were nothing like what I perceived them to be. People didn't see me as rich, smart, or a great manager until I began to say and do the things that indicated those qualities to them. And suddenly, they saw me in a whole new light!
Here's the reason why: recognizing your True Self is believing and proclaiming your true voice. It's not suppressing or masking your true qualities. Instead, it's identifying your authentic self. MudoZazou approaches the idea of being "human" in a way that helps you look at the world from an Authentic Human perspective. As humans, we tend to respond to the environment and circumstances around us in ways that reflect our individual personalities and not always in ways that are healthy. When you tap into your own personal MudoZazou, then you are free to act from your Authentic Self, instead of acting based upon what other people want you to act.
You may not realize it, but to change yourself you must first authenticate who you truly are. This can happen in many ways, but one way is to actually feel your emotions. Try doing this whenever you feel frustrated, sad, happy, or any number of other emotions. Listen to the emotions that come up in your mind and just label them as "Feelings". Don't try to understand what they mean, just label them.
Feelings are unique to each person. Some may associate happiness with being outgoing and positive while others find peace knowing that they are feeling good. What one feels when they experience certain emotions is simply their own Real Self. It's a natural expression of everything they are feeling at that moment. Once you start to embrace your feelings, then you will begin to tap into your own Personal Self, instead of fighting with who you really are.
Your Personal Self represents everything you have ever been, are, or are becoming. It's the foundation of your beingness. Once you get to recognize your own Personal Self, you can then use that information to grow personally and professionally. Look at your past accomplishments and all of your goals that you have achieved so far. Begin to identify all of the good things that you are grateful for.
The next step to tap into your Personal Self is to feel bad about yourself at all times. You may want to try and tell yourself that everything is going to be OK, but when you actually feel bad about yourself, that will make you feel better. Smiling when you are sad, letting your hair down when you are laughing, and just being happy all the time can do wonders for your Personal Self. If you truly want to tap into your own Personal Self, then you must feel bad about yourself sometimes.
Always remember though that you don't have to be sad, depressed, or angry all the time. Your Real Self is filled with happiness, joy, and fulfillment. Once you are able to realize this, then you can start bringing more of it to your life!
