Hi Steemit! I’m Nessa, the nature-loving photographer, artist, collector, and blockchain marketer!

After trying my hand at all other kinds of blogs and social media, I’ve finally decided to make Steemit my home. Allow me to introduce myself and let me know which area you think will be most interesting to post about here!

Nature

As someone who sits in front of a computer screen for 8-14 hours per day, I cherish the time I get to spend in nature: looking off into the distance, listening to the quiet, meeting animals along trails, and more. This love of nature has led me to travel quite a bit, as I’ve been to 41 states in the USA so far and a few countries (France, Japan, Hong Kong, Macau, Costa Rica, and the Netherlands). My favorite places in the USA are Denali (Alaska) and Yellowstone (Wyoming). My favorite environment is new growth redwood forest. My goal is to visit all 50 states soon.

Photography

Ever since my mom gave me my first point and shoot camera at 8 years old, I’ve been obsessed with photography, particularly nature-themed photography. My first job in high school was assisting a wedding photographer by taking candid shots. I still shoot weddings and company events now and then but my real goal is to inspire people into caring about preserving nature through beautiful shots. Most of my posts here will probably catalogue the places I’ve been using photography.

Art

As a child, I always wanted to be an artist, much to the dismay of my teachers in school who tried to get me to pick a more practical career. That passion evolved into graphic design after college and showing art around Los Angeles in my free time. That has since stopped but I’m trying to get back into it. After 18 years of obsessing over digital art, I am finally reverting back to traditional means, as I like having a physical original to hold and I can use each tool for its unique properties. I’m best at realistic pencil drawings and cartoon-like illustration but I’m trying to learn watercolor now. I also collect other artists’ work to support them and to be surrounded by beautiful things.

Marketing

What started out as a career in marketing for startups and larger tech companies made a sharp turn to marketing for blockchain and cryptocurrency companies. That’s how I learned about Steemit in the first place! I’ve written a few articles about marketing for blockchain companies and the future of technology as it becomes ubiquitous across both urban and rural areas.
