Introductory Post

Aloha! My name is Lindsey Breegan. I live in a little town called Waianae on the west coast of the island of O'ahu. I am a mother of two crazy and adorable children, Jonah and Kaliya. I joined Steemit a few months ago, but never made a post, so here I am, finally taking the plunge.

This feels like a natural progression for me as I have been active in the online truth community for many years, and I like the fact that Steemit as a Social media platform is in line with my beliefs. I also like that it is a way to make money doing what I have been doing for free on the net for close to a decade. I have spent a lot of time building a page and following over on Facebook, as I am sure many of you have, only to have my reach constantly dashed by algorithm changes and censorship. Things have become increasingly unbearable, and I am completely fed up and refuse to waste any more of my time on that site.

Offline, I am spending my time creating a life that I can actually handle on a daily basis. Hawaii is a beautiful place and we are lucky to live here, but the cost of living is very high and most people are forced to work two or three jobs just to make it. As a single parent, I refuse to be away from my kids for the 10-14 hours a day it would take to maintain my household through jobs, so I run a small business making and selling various health products and a line of orgonite pendants. I am extremely passionate about being able to act as a stay at home mom to my kids; this is what drives me.

I have managed to get out of the part of life where I am working non-stop and slave to a job, but I have not yet completely found the freedom or satisfaction that I have been seeking through my business. I have done so many cool things in this life to make money, from vending at various concerts, to working as an extra on tv shows, to teaching art. My first love is writing, however, and I have never really found a satisfying way to make an income at it. I am hoping that steemit will be a beginning for me, a way to see my words become something of real value.

My interests are extremely varied, and I have many ideas for articles. I am especially into all things involving natural treatments. I am obsessed with making perfect orgonite and am always working on something new, so expect posts about it and my other art projects. I am also a vegetarian who loves to cook, so recipes will be on deck as well.

I look forward to building a large library and making many friends here, nice to meet you all <3
