Let's Put Them Together and Find Out!

In the movie, "An Inconvenient Truth", Al Gore lied convincingly to the world.
AND, WE LET HIM GET AWAY WITH IT!

We are taught so little about science, that most people just took what Al Gore said and thought, it sound true.

So, Al Gore gets close to the money shot of the movie he stars in, and asks a rhetorical question,

"Don't the look like they go together?"

and everyone in the audience should have shouted,

"Let's put them together and find out!"

Unfortunately for Al Gore and his dream of taxing everyone on the planet for breathing, if you put them together you find that temperature precedes CO2. CO2 levels follow temperature. CO2 doesn't have any influence on temperature.

But that is beside the point.

We should have held Al Gore's feet to the fire for ever thinking of making such a blatant lie.
Even 6th graders can use a spreadsheet to plot two sets of numbers on top of each other.
We aren't in the era when you had to make the charts by hand.

There is no justification for Al Gore not putting the graphs together and seeing the results.
(accept for plausible deniability)

Al Gore is either not a scientist or he is lying. (or both)

An Inconvenient Truth has so many lies and deceptions that it should be used in college courses to train young minds to see deceptions.

However, it is a very feel good movie that offers explanations about what most people are feeling. We are seeing dead zones in the oceans, serious droughts in some places and floods in others. We are seeing diminishing plant life and hearing of the rain forest being cut down. So, it is natural for people to be looking for an explanation about what is going wrong.

And then this persuasive man comes out and gives them a nice package of bullshit.

And he blames driving cars and electric production and cow farts.

However, he never mentions monsanto, or Dole, or BP who are actively destroying the environment. Not passively, by side effects, they are actively creating and dumping pollution. They have been sued (successfully) for these acts.
He also never talks about the active chemical spraying (geoengineering) of populated areas (chemtrails).

The movie never talks about the sun spot cycle. Or that we are heading into an ice age. Or the fact that we are being bombarded with much more UV light than ever before.

The movie has lead to people talking about their "carbon footprint" and other such inanities. The solutions are not one dimensional, because the problems are not one dimensional. But humans like simple things. Nice and easy to put into simple boxes. And a great way to virtue signal. (such as hybrid cars which produce more CO2 before they ever reach the showroom than any car will produce in its life)

So, we are left in the wake of this media manipulation of the masses with an inability to actually talk about the problem. Those who really care about the earth are now going in the wrong direction and they won't be persuaded from their course. Further, those who are actually working on solutions are denounced as "climate deniers" and all other manners of derogatory words.

What a mess. And it could have been, should have been, stopped in its tracks by the audience shouting, "Let's Put Them Together and Find Out!"
