Recipe Of Chicken Biryani !
Here is a recipe for Chicken Biryani:
Ingredients:
•2 cups basmati rice
•1 lb chicken, cut into small pieces
•2 onions, thinly sliced
•4 cloves of garlic, minced
•2 inch piece of ginger, grated
•2 tbsp biryani masala powder
•1 tsp turmeric powder
•1 tsp red chili powder
•2 bay leaves
•2 cinnamon sticks
•4 cardamom pods
•1 cup yogurt
•1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
•1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, chopped
•4 tbsp ghee or oil
•Salt, to taste
Instructions:
Wash the basmati rice and soak it in cold water for 30 minutes.
In a large pot or Dutch oven, heat the ghee or oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until they turn golden brown. Remove half of the onions from the pot and set aside.
Add the garlic and ginger to the pot and sauté for a minute. Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned.
Add the biryani masala powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, bay leaves, cinnamon sticks, and cardamom pods to the pot. Stir well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Add the yogurt, cilantro, and mint leaves to the pot. Mix well and cook for another 5-7 minutes.
Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot. Mix well and add enough water to cover the rice by about an inch. Add salt to taste.
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover the pot. Cook for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked and the liquid has been absorbed.
Fluff the rice with a fork and top it with the reserved onions. Serve hot with raita or cucumber salad.
