All I have to say is WOW!!

On waking this morning my mind was a blank.

Yesterday the car died on the highway. It was old and I knew someday soon something would wear out and it would not be worth fixing. But there I was on the shoulder of the breakdown lane in heavy traffic on 75 near Gainesville exits. I mean heavy traffic.

I tried to call the insurance company. The policy includes discount towing. But the phone wouldn't work. Too much traffic noise and the rep on the other end couldn't hear me. The phone wouldn't pick up the sound of my voice over all the noise. Oh boy. I tried three times to get through. No matter where I tried to call from still too much background noise. Inside the car, outside the car, as far away from the roadway as possible. But there was a fence so I could only get a few feet away.

Highway patrol finally noticed me. The man was very very nice. Treated me like I was his mother. Thank you, Krishna. I used his phone and got through to the insurance company and they sent a tow truck.
But there was a little trailer on the back of the car. He couldn't take the trailer and the car. Somehow I had prepared for something like this, more or less subconsciously and there was a chain in the trunk with a padlock. So The tow truck man pulled the trailer off to the side near a tree and I chained it to the tree. Then he towed the car and me to the house.

I had prepared for this and bought a small second car last year and luckily it had a tow bar on the back. So I drove that car back to where the trailer was and with a great deal of difficulty pulling it uphill to get it hitched to car. I was afraid to back down to it because the car might get stuck. But Somehow I got super human strength and managed to pull the trailer uphill to the car and hitch it.

By now it was dark out and there was no way to connect the trailer lights to the car lights. I managed to get everything back to the house with the hazard lights flashing and thankfully other drivers were paying attention.

So I was pretty much exhausted and fell into a deep sleep. When I woke up in the morning I had been dreaming about the event and more less relived in the dream.
But other than that my mind was blank. Completely blank. I just lay there in what seemed a semi-comatose state. I knew I needed to connect with Krishna in His Holy Name but Krishna and the Holy Name were very, very far away. I was lost in space. Wondering why I should even take another breath let alone get out of bed.

Then a verse from Bhagavad Gita popped into my mind. I try to memorize verses and keep a backboard on the wall. This was not a particularly philosophical verse but it did the trick.

"Here in this army there are many heroic bowmen equal in fighting to Bhima and Arjuna; there are also great fighters like Yuyudhana, Virata and Drupada." BG 1.4.

There I was just like Sanjaya, able to visualize the Battlefield of Kurukshetra. I could see and remember everything I had seen, heard and read. And Krishna was there with all the different personalities assembled and ready to play their parts.

"Oh Gauranga, please bring me closer to You. By Your mercy all things are possible."
