Overview

Experty is an ambitious project created by the minds behind React Poland - Kamil Przeorski and Tom Dyl. Its goal is to create a decentralized video-or-voice calling platform(dapp) and to connect experts (advisors) and their clients (advise seekers). The advice seekers can pay the advisors in fiat or tokens(EXY tokens) for their time.

Idea and Purpose

There are already some applications that can connect experts with knowledge seekers, Skype being the most well known one. So what is the purpose of a decentralized application then?
The problem with current applications and platforms lies in the transparent payment system between the two parties.
Currently, the payments are usually done solely on trust based limitations. An escrow service can be involved but this is usally financially not feasible for most use case scenarios.

Smart contracts offer a smart solution to this problem. A price per unit of time is set. As soon as the session ends, the agreed upon number of tokens is transferred from the knowledge seekers wallet to the wallet of the expert.

Team

The founders of Experty have also previously founded React Poland, as mentioned in the introduction. This means they have a lot of experience with leading a business and a good programming background. There is also a solidity engineer in the team who has worked with Cisco, one of the biggest developer and manufacturer for networking hardware. There are also other members of the team who worked for big companies and have a lot of knowledge and experience. As the famous cryptocurrency investor and entrepeneur Ian Balina would say: "This team is full of MVP's".

Advisors

The advisors for experty are also mostly people with a lot of experience and have various backgrounds. Some notable mentions are:

Token metrics

The token allocation looks good. At current ETH price the hard cap is at about 12.5 Million USD, which is very low and reasonable for such an ambitious project. Future investors should definately consider buying their tokens early on the exchanges before the market cap goes far and beyond of 100 Million USD.

Token Utility

EXY tokens are the main method of payment for the services provided by experty. There are other tokens which will also be supported. The bonus of using the EXY token is the 0% transaction fee which will make the token very valuable for users of the service.

Partnerships

There are already many partners who are ready to use Experty, most notable are Bitcoin Suisse and MindSports.

Social Media and Hype

Expertys social media presence is off the charts and very unusual for such a low cap project.

Also Experty is well ranked among prominent and influential ICO reviewers.

Their Github is also pretty active with several commits made on a frequent basis.

Verdict

Experty is a great project with a real world use case and a lot of potential. There is quite a lot of competition but its trustless payment method is unique and a big advantage over other services like Skype. The team is excellent, token metrics are good and there is already a lot of hype around this project which shows the potential for growth. Moreover, their website looks very straightforward and organized and their whitepaper seems very polished and informative to me. They have a very ambitious roadmap ahead of them with a market release in Q2 2018. Something early investors can look forward to.
As I said at the beginning of this review, I'm not a financial advisor but this project looks very promising to me and is one of the best, if not the best ICO's in 2018.
