Apple is said to unveil the iPhone 15 series sometime in September this year. This has not stopped the internet from talking about it months before the official launch. We might see several changes from sleeker designs to performance uplifts, which will probably come with a possible price hike as well. So, let’s get into the rumors and leaks surrounding the iPhone 15, including its specs, features, and expected launch date.
iPhone 15 Series Rumors:
Thinner Bezels and redefined mute switch
According to reports, the iPhone 15 Pro models will feature thinner bezels around the display, thanks to a new production technology called ‘Low-Injection Pressure Over-molding’ (LIPO). This technology was previously used in the Apple Watch Series 7 and is expected to reduce the bezels to approximately 1.5 mm from the current 2.2 mm.
Additionally, the mute switch, which will be swapped out for a customizable button, is another noteworthy change to look forward to.

Possible Shift to Titanium Frames
In an effort to make the phones lighter, Apple may replace the stainless steel frames with titanium frames in the iPhone 15 Pro models. However, this change could lead to a price increase in international markets and potentially in the U.S., considering the shift to titanium and the upgraded camera system in the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Dynamic Island and Improved Chip Performance
All four models of the iPhone 15 are expected to adopt the Dynamic Island, which means saying goodbye to the notch present in the base iPhone 14 models. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will also come with a faster A17 Bionic chip based on a 3-nanometer processor, offering a noticeable performance boost compared to the standard iPhone 15 models, which will pack the current A16 Bionic from the iPhone 14 Pro models instead. To remind you, Apple made the same move with the iPhone 14/Plus by shipping them with A15 Bionic.
Battery
According to a Twitter user RGCOULDS, iPhone 15 lineup could potentially incorporate stacked battery technology similar to Electric Vehicles. Stacked batteries reduce the space between cells through lamination, allowing higher energy density. This also means greater battery life as heat is distributed more uniformly.
The whole iPhone 15 lineup will feature bigger batteries than its predecessor. Apple is including the biggest battery on the Plus model with a 4912mAh, followed by a 4,852mAh on the Pro Max. The vanilla model will have a 3,877mAh battery and the Pro model will have a 3,650mAh cell.
The tipster, who is primarily known for Android leaks, says Apple is considering 40W wired fast charging and 20W charging through MagSafe for their future iPhones. Currently, the iPhone 14 Pro Max can reach a maximum wired charging speed of 27W, while MagSafe charging is limited to 15W.
However, it is unclear whether these advancements would be implemented in the iPhone 15 or iPhone 16 lineup.
Additionally, rumors suggest that the As with any leaks or rumors, it’s important to await official announcements from Apple for confirmation.
Display
A blogging platform, 9to5Mac has shared the first renders of the upcoming iPhone 15 with a pill-shape cutout. As per rumors, the device will have a larger 6.2-inch screen with a Dynamic Island notch. To reiterate, the iPhone 14 features a 6.1-inch XDR OLED display.

There are no adequate details about the display’s resolution and refresh rate. But, Apple is likely to retain the OLED panel with a standard 60Hz refresh motion, to maintain the gap with the Pro series.
Likewise, all the models of the iPhone 15 series will come with a Dynamic Island as per the speculations. If this comes true, it will finally be a farewell to that bathtub-looking notch, Apple has been favoring for a long time.
USB Type-C Port
Another change users might expect on the iPhone 15 lineup is a USB-C port. With the EU mandating a USB Type-C port in its region, Apple may finally forgo its lightning port. Also, the renders show a USB Type-C port on the bottom of the iPhone 15.
However, 9to5Mac believes that things may change in the coming days. But as the 15 Pro renders also suggested a USB Type-C port, the vanilla variant will most likely include one.
