One Picture One Story/Week72/@khayjhay

Hello amazing friends! Hope you are all good. I'm khayjhay and I am super excited to participate in this contest organised by @suboohi.

[Infront of the locked building.]

We all have experienced disappointment somewhere or another at some point of our lives. It is quite normal to do so. However, it is more painful when the situation could have been avoided. This is my story.

I recently joined the university. Life in the university has been so challenging. I'll probably make a separate post for that. We were meant to have Biology practicals one Friday morning by 8am. As a studious student, I left home as early as 7am so that I would be able to get a good seat in the Laboratory.

I literally rushed out. I even forfeited my breakfast so that I would get there on time. I got to school by 7:20 am. On arrival, I realised that the building was unusually calm. I quickly concluded that it was because I was early. As I got closer, I noticed that few persons were standing in front of the door.

They were a few of my coursemates and others from different departments standing outside the building. As I went closer, I got the biggest shock - the door was locked. A woman told us that the workers do not usually come early on Fridays. Aside that, we saw a post indicating that our practical would start the next week.

Sincerely speaking, it was very disappointing. I spent 450 Naira (3.06 Steem) to get there. Most people got angry. I was actually annoyed too, but at the same time I found it funny. The class WhatsApp group chat was boiling (literally 😂).

Someone said that she told the cab driver to stop after reading messages in the group and told him to continue again. After some people said they should still come. It was chaotic.

Eventually, we had to trek to the gate which was a ten to 15 minutes trekking. We paid our way to the Town Campus of my school to attend a Math lecture that would hold in place of the practical. I really spent a lot that day on transportation.

It was really disappointing and it is one experience that would always live rent free in my head. I hope you enjoyed reading my little experience.

I would love to invite @goodybest, @okere-blessing and @vickmoon to comment and possibly participate in this contest.

Eyaah 😂 sorry I feel your pains. All these freshers vibes 😅 well is part of the system that is what makes you a complete Nigerian students 🤧😂. Nice entry and thanks for the invite and besides more stress is coming in unistress 😅😅

I have not even started and it's already like this😫🥹. Nevertheless, I know I would survive if I put my mind and work hard.

Thanks for stopping by.

Definitely and besides your face doesn't look like someone that was angry 😂

I was actually annoyed too, but at the same time I found it funny.

Like I stated earlier, I found it funny too. I had never thought that could happen.

The class WhatsApp group chat was boiling (literally 😂).

At the point I took the picture, I read a lot of complaints and funny reactions from my class group chat. This lightened the atmosphere.

And as I stated earlier, disappoints do happen. So you just have to embrace it and move on. That's life😁

Thank you for the support 😊

Sorry about this.
I usually pity science students. The system is not favourable at all for you guys, particularly with how you pay transportation to and fro both campuses.

And this journey takes about 30 minutes. Please don't be disheartened. Hopefully, your course representative would be able to sort it out with the lecturers.

It is one of those things I have to deal with. I'm getting used to it already. It's a huge burden to pay for transportation to and fro both campuses.

We'll strive though. We have no other choice 💪
