So the teacher you to made a fool at died years later and that hits you hard? Why, I ask. It's not that you were friends or stayed in touch and I doubt your friend did.
What made you say I made a fool out of her? I was laughing because I caught my friend red-handed. It wasn't directed at her.
Yes, we're not close and we're just her students but she's a good instructor and that made lasting impression on me. I guess the reason why it hits hard was because of the reality of what happened to her - it was quite unexpected, who knew back in the days that she wouldn't live that long. That was it, you don't have to be close to someone to realize something.
