What's Going On?!............. NW Cascade Wanderings

It seems things are odd anymore. What’s going on? More on that in a minute. 😁

The day began with a special ‘all together’ church service. Our church normally has a 9 AM service and a 10:40 AM service due to the large attendance. The last Sunday of the year, they do one service, or an ‘all together’ service where the congregation is combined. It makes for a crowded sanctuary and a needed overflow into another room. I like to be in the sanctuary and in the bigger, more open area, so I told @silvertop, we would need to leave home at 20 past the hour to make sure that happened!

By the time the service started, it was indeed, a packed house! I was glad we’d gotten there when we did! 😅 The worship was awesome and the message even better. It was a good time.

Once home, @silvertop set about opening the gift from silvergoldstackers’ Secret Santa. See his post for details on that.

I spent the afternoon going through a small but large capacity counter storage container. It housed many, many pairs of earrings and various things. They were all askew and I paired up each set and ziplock bagged them in miniature ziplock baggies. It took quite some time to get through it all. The earrings were all acquired over my lifetime; some being very old and others not so old.

Yesterday afternoon, we stopped by the Lynden City Park. Here are some photos from that adventure.

What’s going on? It seems that nature is just a bit off! I almost couldn’t believe my eyes when I spied this Pussy Willow Tree budding out with its fuzzy tips! Really?! It’s December for heaven’s sake! We’ve not even had ‘winter’ here yet. I’m suspecting this tree and its sister tree might be in for a shock in the near future. I hope it doesn’t hurt it!

So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
