Global ban on single-use plastics: a necessity or a risk.
Plastic is the biggest problem that needs to be addressed. My friend @alfazmalek, thank you for bringing this topic to discuss.
Should single-use plastics be banned worldwide?
Indeed, banning plastic from the world is essential. We can see plastic everywhere in the world because people throw them away after using them once. As these plastics do not decompose over 100 years, it creates a big issue for the world. Therefore, it directly affects water pollution, air pollution, and environmental pollution. Both land and ocean face this issue. Imagine how many animals lost their lives after consuming that plastic garbage. Today even human health is facing a risk due to these wastes getting into the food chain. If this plastic is banned by every country, this world would be a clean place.
But if plastic is banned suddenly, it would be a problem for the people who use plastic for packing and storage. Therefore, it is essential to find another eco-friendly method for packing and storage before banning them.
Can a global ban on plastics harm the economy?
According to my knowledge, it will harm the economy. Because plastic production and selling companies will face many problems. While some workers will lose their jobs, other people will lose their income. Some countries rely on plastic; therefore, their economies would go down fast. However, if the world can introduce new eco-friendly inventions to the people, harm to the economy would be reduced.
Will banning single-use plastics improve environmental health?
Yes, of course, banning plastics helps to improve environmental health. You may notice a lot of plastic added to the garbage daily. Both humans on the land as well as animals in the ocean face these plastic threats. Thousands of animals die in the world after consuming that garbage plastic. Banning will help to reduce garbage around the world. We are all aware that when plastic burns, harmful chemicals are released into the environment. This causes air pollution. Therefore, the plastic ban is helpful for a better health environment. Banning is not the sole answer, but it will help to a certain extent.
Are there better alternatives to banning single-use plastics?

I believe there are a lot of alternatives other than banning them. We can produce easily decomposable plastics. Therefore, as an alternative action, we can produce less thick plastic. Additionally, the government can encourage businessmen to make new inventions like paper bags, glass bottles, etc. Furthermore, the government can impose new rules and regulations to limit the use of plastics. As well, manufacturing companies can collect the used bottles and bags and implement re-use methods. Educating people to reuse these items again and again is another way. Finally, the government and other organizations can educate people about the negative impacts of using these plastics through workshops and seminars.

Indeed plastic uses enhance cancer risk and other pollution problem, It should be ban but when it gets in action, Government threats only shop keeper and road side venders but what about big brands which sells their products in plastic. Ban should be but it will apply on all. Well written post.
