Aside from its role in supporting life, nitrogen has many other uses. It is a key component in the production of fertilizers, which are used to promote plant growth and increase crop yields. It is also used as a coolant in refrigeration and air conditioning systems, as well as in the production of liquid nitrogen, which has a variety of industrial and medical applications.
One of the most interesting properties of nitrogen is its ability to form strong bonds with other elements, including hydrogen, oxygen, and carbon. These bonds allow nitrogen to be used in the manufacture of a wide range of chemicals, such as ammonia, nitric acid, and nitrous oxide. Ammonia, for example, is used in the production of fertilizers, while nitrous oxide is used as a propellant in aerosol cans and as an anesthetic in dentistry.
Nitrogen can also be found in the form of nitrogen compounds, such as nitrates and nitrites, which are important components of many soils and play a vital role in the nitrogen cycle. This cycle is the process by which nitrogen is converted from one form to another, and is essential for the health of ecosystems and the maintenance of soil fertility.
In addition to its various industrial and biological uses, nitrogen has many scientific applications. For example, it is used in the study of the properties of materials, as well as in the preservation of archaeological and biological specimens. It is also used in the semiconductor industry, where it is used to produce high-purity nitrogen for cleaning silicon wafers.
Industry of semiconductors:
In the semiconductor industry, high-purity nitrogen is produced from nitrogen and used to clean silicon wafers.
Fire suppression:
Nitrogen is used in fire suppression systems as an inert gas to suffocate fires by removing the oxygen that fuels burning.
Energy production:
In order to avoid the formation of explosive gas and air combinations, nitrogen is utilized in natural gas pipes.
Lighting:
High-intensity discharge (HID) lamps, which are frequently used in automotive and industrial lighting, are made using nitrogen.
Welding:
In welding, nitrogen is utilized as a shielding gas to prevent oxidation and other types of contamination from damaging the weld.
Agriculture:
Fertilizer production uses nitrogen, which is necessary to encourage plant development and boost crop harvests.
Refrigeration and air conditioning:
Nitrogen is utilized as a coolant in refrigeration and air conditioning systems to increase their effectiveness and efficiency.
Food preservation:
Nitrogen is used to preserve food by lowering the oxygen level in packaging, which inhibits the growth of bacteria and other organisms that cause deterioration.
Pharmaceuticals:
Nitrogen is used to make nitroglycerin, which is used to treat heart disorders, and nitrous oxide, which is used as a general anesthetic.
Aerospace:
To maintain proper fuel pressure during flight, nitrogen is employed as a pressurizing agent in aircraft fuel systems.
To sum up, nitrogen is a useful and significant element that is essential to many fields of research, business, and the environment. Nitrogen is a crucial part of our environment, supporting life and serving as the building blocks for a wide variety of substances. Research into and usage of nitrogen will continue to play a significant role in determining our future.

Thankyou @jyoti-thelight
A very informative post from your side. Yes, Nitrogen has number 7 according to periodic table.when I was the student of science then I always prefer organic chemistry over inorganic. Hahaha
Thank you for sharing quality post with us. Keep it up !
Thankyou @aaliarubab for sharing your thoughts
My pleasure.
