The Diarygame Thursday 6th February 2025: "Supervising The Molding Of Parapets At Site".
One of the things that adorn the walls of a house is a parapet. You may wonder what a parapet is, but this is a low protective wall, which is also known as a baluster. Parapets are used on the edges of a balcony, as staircase rails, etc. On Thursday, 6 February 2024, I supervised the molding of parapets.
The engineer of the site had an appointment at his place of work, and he needed another engineer who could stand in for him in supervising the work that was ongoing in his site house. He called me and asked if I could supervise the work for him till he returned, and I accepted the offer because the pay was good.
On arriving at the site, I got the material for the day's work ready, materials such as cement, etc. The artisans arrived some minutes at the site at about fifteen minutes to eight o'clock in the morning, changed their dresses, and began the molding at eight o'clock in the morning.
At this juncture, I want to outline the steps to molding a parapet.
HOW TO MOLD A PARAPET
Molded sandy soil
Step 1: Prepare a place for molding. You are to level the ground to a flat level, then heap some masses of sandy soil( about 6 head pan of sandy soil)
Step 2: Use the molding equipment and shape the heaped sandy soil to the desired shape
Mixing sand and cement
Poured on the shaped sandy soil
Step 3: Mix cement and sandy soil using water to have Grout
Step 4: Pour the Grout on the shaped sandy soil, then use the molding equipment and roll on it to have the desired shape. Repeat this process till you have the desired thickness.
Step 5: Mix only cement and water. Pour it on the molded Grout and use the molding equipment to shape it. Repeat this process till you have a shiny and smooth surface.
Step 6: Splash substances of cement on the surface.
You now have your parapet. But you have to make or buy a mold that has your desired design because the mold designs the parapet.
We finished the work at six o'clock in the evening, and I paid the artisans their wages. We closed for the day. I believe you learned how to mold the parapet.
