My Favorite City of My Country.

Steem greetings @everyone and lovers of the Hindwhale community and welcome to my blog as I participate in the contest "My Favorite City of My Country”.

To further share thoughts about the contest, I will follow the guiding questions below 👇👇.

What is your favourite city in your country? Why do you like it?

There are several cities in Cameroon that I can say are my favourites but since we are required to talk about one, I will talk about Buea in the South West region of Cameroon.

It is my favourite city due to the good temperature of the city. I do not like harsh weather conditions and Buea suits me perfectly due to the good climatic conditions.

The environment is also clean with the dark volcanic soils from the mountain that make the city unique. I will choose Buea again and again because it has all it takes for me to live there. The town has good roads linking the city to other towns and regions of the country.

Have you ever lived there, or do you just love visiting?

I have lived there since high school till university. When I got my undergrad program done, I left abroad for postgraduate studies. Then I returned for a master's program.

I lived there for 6 years and I loved it, no reason to regret choosing Buea as my favourite city. The people are welcoming and accommodating, the reason why the city is named “the town of legendary hospitality”.

Are there any tourist attractions in your favourite city? If yes then tell us about them.

Buea has several tourist attractions such as Mount Fako. The mountain is the highest in the center and West Africa with a height of about 4,095 meters. It has an active volcano which attracts researchers and tourists to visit the mountain.

Buea hosts the Mount Cameroon Race of Hope every February of each year. The mountain race attracts tourists from all over the world and also athletes from across the globe to participate in the race.

The city also harbours other big towns with numerous tourist attractions like Limbe. Limbe has a wildlife center where different endangered species of animals are reserved.

Also, the town's closeness to the coastal region of Cameroon makes it easy to transport goods from abroad easily. It also helps to provide fresh seafood to the tourists and inhabitants of the city.

If someone visited for the first time, what is the one place they must see?

The German colonial buildings in the government residential area are the first place tourists will see. These structures are unique and stand out from other buildings.

There are several other places tourists can see for the first time visiting the town like the reunification monument in Buea.

In sum, Buea is a great city with food climatic conditions, good soil for agripreneurs, several higher institutions, a good road network, good infrastructure and just to name a few good food to keep body and soul together.
