"AFTER these things THE LORD APPOINTED SEVENTY OTHERS ALSO, and SENT them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go."
Luke 10:1 (NKJV)

• The Appointed ones

  • There are some appointed ones who are permitted to work in the secular alongside with the Ministry. While some are not permitted to do at all.
  • Now God would usually put the appointed ones, whoever is working in the secular cum ministry, under a called one, someone who is in the practical ministry—one who works on full time basis; to watch over whatever work that such might be doing.
  • You may be appointed by you senior Pastor; the overseer or superintendent, or whoever presided over your Church.
IF you wanted to pastor or shepherd in that condition, under the overseer, and keep your secular work, that could be all right.
HOWEVER, If God does call you to pioneer a new work, that may not be good enough for you—you may not be approved by God in doing that.
  • God demanded more from whoever is called to pioneer a new work, such are always expected to work on full time in the ministry.
  • What God expected from the appointed ones, those who juggle the secular work and ministry work, might be minimal. Because they do have someone who stand as an overseer, who stand before God to present or bring the churches under them to God in prayer.
  • The appointed ones shall be rewarded if they are faithful in the assignment given to them (Hebrews 6:10).
  • God will not use anyone without a reward, If such are faithful in the assignment given to them, they cannot but be rewarded:
23 And whatever you do, DO IT HEARTILY, AS TO THE LORD AND NOT TO MEN, 24 KNOWING THAT FROM THE LORD YOU WILL RECEIVE THE REWARD OF THE INHERITANCE; for you SERVE THE LORD CHRIST. 25 But he who does wrong will be repaid for what he has done, and there is no partiality" (Colossians 3:23–25 NKJV).
    READ: Ephesians 6:8

• The called ones

  • The called ones are not permitted to work in the secular, they are to be with Jesus, follow Him and do the Kingdom work fully:
15 So when they had eaten breakfast, JESUS SAID TO SIMON PETER, “Simon, son of Jonah, DO YOU LOVE ME MORE THAN THESE [the fishing business or whatever secular work you are doing]?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “FEED MY LAMBS.” 16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, DO YOU LOVE ME?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “TEND MY SHEEP.” 17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “DO YOU LOVE ME?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” JESUS said to him, “FEED MY SHEEP" (John 21:15-17).
  • The preparations and trainings of the called out ones are always severe and hard. They are primarily called to stay with Jesus, the work they are to do started with staying with Him (Mark 3:13,14).
  • The called out ones are sent to pioneer new works—they are to found new ministries. They would be allowed to pass through different trials and challenges.
  • The trials and challenges which confronted the called ones, who are sent to pioneer new works, would build them up spiritually; build their spiritual muscles, in order to become strong and reliable leaders (2 Corinthians 4:7-12).
  • The tests; trials and challenges, that such leaders face, would be determined by the kind of assignment God has for them (Acts 9:15,16).

• The Healed ones

  • The Healed ones will use their resources and time for the building of the Kingdom (Luke 8:1-3).
  • They are expected to be at their place of appointed—where God has planted them to fulfil their assignments.
  • God has designed every individual Believer to be planted in a place, a church—you cannot be blessed just anywhere.
  • They are to recognize their appointed Prophets/Pastors. The healed ones will thrive and flourish in whatever they do, If they stayed at the appointed places and be under the appointed Prophets/Pastors for them.
  • Your word is put in someone's mouth, you have to recognize the appointed agent of God for your life!
  • Under such a minister: you must be sold out completely to the vision of him or her—the appointed prophet or pastor of yours.

• Some are called but they missed it, because they failed to sacrifice their ambition for the great vision given to them—the call of God on their lives:
"YES, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. FOR HIS SAKE I HAVE DISCARDED EVERYTHING ELSE, COUNTING IT ALL AS GARBAGE, so that I could gain Christ" (Philippians 3:8 NLT).

  • Some wasted their lives and destinies, because they could not answer the call of God on their lives fully. Such are to regret at the end of their journey on earth.
  • Some in this category, those who are disobedient to the call of God on their lives, may die prematurely. They are considered a fruitless tree in the sight of God. They are just using up the land, wasting the land; or occupying the land for nothing:
7 AND he said to the vinedresser, ‘LOOK, FOR THREE YEARS NOW I HAVE COME SEEKING FRUIT ON THIS FIG TREE, AND I FIND NONE. Cut it down. WHY SHOULD IT USE UP THE GROUND?’ 8 And he answered him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and put on manure. 9 Then if it should bear fruit next year, well and good; BUT IF NOT, YOU CAN CUT IT DOWN’ ” (Luke 13:7-9 ESV).
  • Since they refused to answer the call of God on their lives, they might be called home, that is, they may die prematurely because they are like the fruitless tree talked about in the above Bible passage.
  • If you take the call of God on your life for granted or do the work committed into your hand with levity, you are unknowingly jeopardizing your life. It is my prayer that you will not die before your time in Jesus' name.

• Admonishments

  • Let God's will be done in your life! If you are called by Him, answer the call without any delay.
  • Also, if you are appointed to serve in Ministry, be faithful and diligent in the assignment. Know that the ministry assignment given you is not a secondary work to your secular work, but the primary one.
  • If you failed, you did let God down in the assignment given to you, you will lose your reward in heaven (1 Corinthians 3:11-15), and you may not receive His favour on earth in whatever you do.
  • If you have been healed by God, thus you have to reciprocate what He did for you, by making the work of the Kingdom your utmost priority—a primary concern. USING your resources and time to promote and propagate the work of His Kingdom.
  • With what we have shared in this piece, you should know the group you belong, and should be faithful in whatever you are meant to do.
  • The truth is, you live purposely to serve, make the Kingdom of God on earth expand or increase, NOT about material acquisition.

• You will not fail in Jesus' name.

  • If you had any ailment in your body, I declare your healing now in Jesus' name.
  • The Affliction will never rise again in Jesus' name.
    Peace!
