What do you know about ear diseases?

If I were to answer this question without the help of Google, I would be able to name only a few ear diseases because they are a little different from all the other diseases. The first thing I understand when I say ear disease is ear infection. Ear infections can occur for various reasons. Also, a perforated eardrum is a very common problem. Ear pain and swelling of the inner part of the ear are also ear diseases. Continuous watery discharge from the ear canal and pus are symptoms of ear disease. I also have an idea about a serious disease like sudden hearing loss.

Have you know ever experienced an ear-related health issue?

Yes, I have experienced ear related health issues. I can clearly remember that once I started having water coming out of one ear and after some time the water started coming out of the other ear as well. It is funny but true that for the first 5-6 minutes I felt quite comfortable with the water coming out of my ear but later when it started flowing continuously I started feeling uncomfortable. Within a short time my body became weak and I felt feverish. Then after talking to an ENT specialist and taking antibiotics my water coming out of my ear reduced after some time. Since this was many years ago I don't remember the medicine or how long it took for the problem to be resolved. This was my first experience of ear related problem. I had ear problem last year too. White discharge came out of my ear every day. I ignored this problem for the first two days but after the third day I went to an ENT specialist and he checked my ear nose and throat and told me that I had a fungal infection in my ear. Although it was not a serious problem, if it was not treated on time, it could have caused serious damage. When I asked the doctor about the cause of this problem, he said that I had this problem due to the weather. Not only me but many patients come to him with this problem every day. He gave me antibiotics, micro oral gel and an ear drop. My problem was solved within a week of using these.

How can we effectively treat and prevent ear infections

I am not an ear specialist so I will answer this question from my experience. Ear infection is a common problem so it is possible to prevent it if we follow some basic rules.

• First of all, we should take cold (there is a specific term in medical science which I do not remember at the moment) vaccines on time, especially in children, if these vaccines are taken, ear infections due to cold do not occur.
• Maintaining basic hygiene is definitely a very important thing for our healthy life. So we should maintain more hygiene especially keeping our pillow covers clean.
• We put different types of objects in our ears and scratch them, which has very bad results. So no unwanted objects should be inserted into our ears.
• Water enters our ears while bathing in rivers, showers or rains, so we have to be aware while bathing in these places. We should use earplugs so that water does not enter our ears.
• Many of us currently use various hearing aids that should be kept clean.
• Finally, what I think is very important is that instead of ignoring ear problems, one should quickly seek treatment from an ear, nose and throat specialist.
