An appendix is a small, tube-like structure that is attached to the large intestine, located in the lower right part of the abdomen. Speaking it is at the junction of the small and large intestines.

The appendix does cause someone to have sharp pain that stays around the belly button and then moves to the lower right abdomen. The pain often worsens with movement, pressing, or coughing in the area. The appendix can vary, but it usually becomes intense and unbearable as the condition keeps getting worse.

If you suspect an appendix you must seek the attention of medical personnel for treatment before the appendix worsens.

No, I haven't suffered from appendix pain. Although, I know of someone who has ever suffered from appendix pain, it wasn't easy for the person, as the person was passing through pains before she was diagnosed with appendix. They had to do her surgery and remove the appendix before she became okay with her illness.

• What's an immediate action you need to take after Appendix pain?

Should in case, I experience symptoms of the appendix, including severe pain in the lower right abdomen of my belly, I will take immediate action such as;

• Seek the attention of medical personnel.
• I will avoid eating or drinking so it won't affect me when surgery is to be carried out successfully.
• I will avoid taking pain relievers or antacids
• I will avoid applying heat.

Early treatment and diagnosis, usually involve surgery to remove the appendix which is the key to treating the appendix.
