Carrots are commonly grown in the northern part of the country where farmers plant them in the middle of April. They germinate more quickly when sown in loamy soil. They can be easily seen around after harvesting, where the sellers in my community move from one place to another for customers who are willing to buy the farm products. Carrots come in different varieties and are very useful to us because they contain quality nutrients that are good for our body systems. Carrots are the second most common vegetables after potatoes.
Many people in the community consume carrots because they have a lot of health benefits. People venture into the carrot business in both rural and urban areas due to the large demand from the people. Onions are also common in my locality, found in every household where they are used in food preparation. Nowadays, they are very expensive in our local market due to an increase in petroleum prices.
Onions are stored in our home, especially in a cool and dark area. Most people cook onions to prevent spoilage because they have a shelf life of 3 to 4 weeks. Onions enhance our healthy lifestyle due to the active ingredients they contain. This type of vegetable is mostly found in the northern part of Nigeria. They pack it into large sacks and transport it to different states.

Conclusion
These vegetables are good for us to maintain our body system. Some of these chemicals contained in both types of vegetables usually boost our immune system to be stronger, helping fight infections harmful to our health.
