HUMILITY 2

12 THEN ONE NIGHT THE LORD APPEARED TO SOLOMON AND SAID, "I HAVE HEARD YOUR PRAYER AND HAVE CHOSEN THIS TEMPLE AS THE PLACE FOR MAKING SACRIFICES.
13 At times I might shut up the heavens so that no rain falls, or commands grasshoppers to devour your crops, or send plagues among you.
14 THEN IF MY PEOPLE WHO ARE CALLED BY MY NAME WILL HUMBLE THEMSELVES AND PRAY AND SEEK MY FACE AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, I WILL HEAR FROM HEAVEN AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SINS AND RESTORE [heal] THEIR LAND."
2 Chronicles 7:12-14 (NLT)

• The people of God, those who are called by His name.
I. Those who are called by His name are those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lord.
II. Such people live a consecrated life: "NEVERTHELESS THE SOLID FOUNDATION OF GOD STANDS, HAVING THIS SEAL: "THE LORD KNOWS THOSE WHO ARE HIS," and, "LET EVERYONE WHO NAMES THE NAME OF CHRIST [the Lord] DEPART FROM INIQUITY" (2 Timothy 2:19 NKJV).
a. Thus, If you are called by His name, depart from sin. Forsake sin and every appearance of it.
b. If you wanted to be identify with God, He would want to purge you, remove the dross, things that are not right in your life—that would not bring glory to His name.
III. Those who are called by His name live their lives for God; they live to please Him: "AND HE [Jesus Christ] DIED FOR ALL, THAT THOSE WHO LIVE SHOULD LIVE NO LONGER FOR THEMSELVES, BUT FOR HIM WHO DIED FOR THEM AND ROSE AGAIN" (2 Corinthians 5:15 NKJV).
READ: Romans 14:7,8; Galatians 2:20; 1 Peter 4:1,2).
a. It, thus, means calling by the name of God will cost you some things; your former ways of life, goals, aspirations, some relationships, and desires. You cannot be a friend of the world and still be God's confidant (1 Corinthians 15:33; James 4:4,5).
b. If you love the world, the love of the Father, God, is not in you: "DO NOT LOVE THE WORLD OR THE THINGS IN THE WORLD. IF ANYONE LOVES THE WORLD, THE LOVE OF THE FATHER IS NOT IN HIM [her]" (1 John 2:15 NKJV).
YOU cannot not love God and the world, the system of it, at the same time (Matthew 6:24; Luke 16:13).

• Note: If the people of the world, the unbelievers, enjoy your presence and love your company, It means you are probably not living right, a consecrated life (2 Corinthians 6:14-18).

• If you truly want to live according to the Word, the principles of the Bible, you would be hated by people:
  18 "IF THE WORLD HATES YOU, YOU KNOW THAT IT HATED ME [Jesus] BEFORE IT HATED YOU. 19 "IF YOU WERE OF THE WORLD, THE WORLD WOULD LOVE ITS OWN. YET BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT OF THE WORLD, BUT I CHOSE YOU OUT OF THE WORLD, THEREFORE THE WORLD HATES YOU. 20 "REMEMBER THE WORD THAT I SAID TO YOU, 'A SERVANT IS NOT GREATER THAN HIS MASTER.' IF THEY PERSECUTED ME, THEY WILL ALSO PERSECUTE YOU. IF THEY KEPT MY WORD, THEY WILL KEEP YOURS ALSO. 21 "BUT ALL THESE THINGS THEY WILL DO TO YOU FOR MY NAME'S SAKE, BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW HIM WHO SENT ME [Jesus]" (John 15:18-21 NKJV).

• Pleasing God would make you displease a number of people. You cannot but step on people's toes, while pleasing God!
• Keeping God's commands will provoke envy, bitterness, hatred, and persecution from the people around you (2 Corinthians 3:10-12; 2 Timothy 3:12).
• To be candid, walking with God is a lonely walk—a narrow road indeed: "BECAUSE NARROW IS THE GATE AND DIFFICULT IS THE WAY WHICH LEADS TO LIFE, AND THERE ARE FEW WHO FIND IT" (Matthew 7:14 NKJV).
• Walking with God will put you away from the crowd—you would be separated from the crowd, the evil system of the world (2 Corinthians 6:17,18).
• And further down the road in your walk with God, He might arrange for your isolation, that He could work on your life for His purpose (Acts 9:10-12,15-16; Galatians 1:15-22; 2 Timothy 4:16-18).
• God has the chosen few, the selected few or the ones that He is raising or breeding for different purposes. You may be one of them!

• If you humbled yourself and seek His face, He would heal your land—life.

• If you humbled yourself: "HUMBLE YOURSELVES IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD, AND HE WILL LIFT YOU UP" (James 4:10 NKJV).
• Humility is a major key needed to be restored back to God If you erred, and also a key to perpetuate your fellowshipping or communion with Him.

• You will not fail in Jesus' name.

• Should there be any ailment in your body, receive your healing now in Jesus' name.
• Whatever is contrary to your health is rebuked and uprooted totally in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.

STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20).
b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. As you took the steps A and B your name is written in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).

• If you took the steps As highlighted above, congratulations, It means you are saved—born-again. Join a Word based church in your area and Town or city, and be part of whatever they are doing there. Peace!
