Salvador Dali Portrait Pen Drawing & A Little About His Work...

Salvador Dali was a surrealist artist born in Catalonia Spain.

This is a portrait of him I did using pen and cross hatch technique. He has rather large eyes and the frantic lines I used match his eccentric personality.

To get the different tones I just went over the lines in the opposite directions and repeated it to get even darker tones. The thing that I would say makes his face iconic is his long pointy mustache and his bold piercing eyes.

He is most famous for his surreal art based on many of his dreams. Here are some examples of some of his work.

I personally find his work too strange for my taste however, I think there is a lot to learn and to be inspired from his wild limitless imagination. What do you like or dislike about him?
