This is and update to my fundition campaign
So, I put the chooks out normal yesterday morning. Kept the littles in the run in their tractor so they could teach the bigs a thing or two about scratching, and then I went to bed.
I gave everyone a bit of comfrey and horseherb, and the littles even got a small squash that was growing in the swales and would rot there.
This is what I woke up to:
I guess the littles are so good at scratching that they scratched a hole right in that lush organic matter floor and waltzed right out to comingle.
Nobody died!
There was a tiny bit of pecking when I was out there, but it seems they've got their issues sorted pretty well. I'm glad. I still put em to bed separately, but I bet that'll change soon.
At one point, Donna went to peck at the littles, and they all three rushed her. Good to see they're standing up for themselves.
This little camera shy one hopped right up in my lap and onto my hand. I think I have a new friend 😍
I'm loving these breeds so much that I think I'll build my flock exclusively from them. They're pretty, smart, well adapted, and lay pretty eggs, so Easter eggers and cream legbars are here to stay. I'm buying them in batches of three. @riverflows provided a gracious donation that'll cover the first one in he next batch, so I'm just waiting for another $30 or so.

Some of these are exchange addresses so that I'll get notifications of deposits. From there, the funds will either be moved to wallets that I control, exchanged for steem to boost my influence here, or to USD to fund a project.
Every time you think you've got them figured out, they learn a new trick! I'm glad they're all doing so well!
Yup! It's fun watching them learn and form their little social circle. Looking like I might get another EE this weekend. Found a lady with them for $10!

Yup, if the ground is soft, they can and will find a way out.... Glad the big ones left them alone and the littles had the sense to stick together. :))
