Blood Money: The Dark Reality of Yahoo-Yahoo and Ritual Killings in Nigeria

In today’s post, I just want to rant and I’ll be delivering in two different sections. The first part of this post will be talking about the quest for “quick cash among the youths.”
A friend once told me, “the way this young chaps of this days are chasing money, if many of us had such mentality at their age, we’ll be millionaires by now”. When I was around their age, the university, shaped us to think that white collar jobs was the ultimate.
So once we were done with school, we started applying for jobs. Each year, millions of youths graduates enter the labor market, only to end up unemployed and same cycle has repeated itself for decades. This has made a lot of youths see school as scam. The ones who are not patient enough to look for a job, go into internet scam popularly called “yahoo-yahoo”.
Yahoo-yahoo has now eaten so deep into the society that this syndicate has now created different schools to train people in scamming. The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has been doing all it can to arrest them but it never stops.
You see them with all types of fancy rides living the dream life of a lot of their struggling peers and enticing them to come and join their league of extraordinary gentlemen. This isn’t limited to only the youths alone, even some kids in their teens practice this romance scam just to make money.
You see ladies around this fraudster all the time in parties and big events having the best time of their lives. The worse part is that this girls know that this illicit money spent on them are gotten from people’s sweat and blood, yet they don’t care and they still go ahead to date them. When the money finally runs out, the girls are killed by the same guy that supposed to love them to be used for money rituals. The ritual part of the human sacrifice is what we call “yahoo plus”.
Internet scam has now taken a dark turn in Nigeria. At some point when this foreigners become wise to their fake schemes and falling for their tricks, they go diabolical in order to increase their success rates. Some go as far as having sex with a mad women on the streets , eating off their excrete, and killing unsuspecting victims and using some part of their organ demanded by the witch doctor for sacrifice.
This is now the new menace terrorizing the country. We’ve seen video of ladies who barely escaped with their lives by an inch close to death.

As a result of this human ritual’s people do, the government had to ban the Nigeria movie industry from showing scenes that involves money rituals but deep down in their hearts, this crazy government know that this is not the root cause of this evil act because a lot of us grew up watching those films and didn’t turn out to be ritualistic.
The government’s knows it shares a significant part of the blame because for years they kept squandering the wealth of the nation, not providing jobs and social amenities and keeping everyone in abject poverty, so that they can capitalize on that poverty during elections to offer money in exchange for their votes, knowing they will eagerly accept it.
What actually prompted this post is a young boy who wanted to use his 7 years old nephew for money rituals, a young Islamic cleric who killed his girlfriend and dismembered her body for the same purpose and the gospel artist who was caught with his girlfriend head in a bag for this same money ritual purpose. At this point, we don’t even know who to trust again because it could be anybody. We just have to always watch and pray.
I’ll be discussing on the greedy nature of most of this Nigerian ladies that often lead them to fall victim to the hands of this yahoo boys.

Young folks will always want to be different, they'll always want to be better than those before them. But when it goes beyond the legitimate way, it becomes a problem.
I expect that the post would contain a way out or a plan of yours to help these young ones from the dangerous path they've chosen or perhaps a government policy that can help. That'll be more helpful.

Actually, this is a creepy story. Well written but I don't believe you can blame the women for being greedy here. If there wouldn't be women the same would happen and men slept with men, or dogs, or goats and killed them.
The entire system, way of thinking has to change and this will take 50-100 years of brainwashing people into a different belief about life, income, future, hobbies, enjoying life, how to eat, dress, behave... and with that culture will be wiped out like we face in Europe.
Shocking this is for sure but not too unique I am afraid. It happens in more countries and it all started with: Finding a way to survive. The main problem is laziness, the believe that money can be easily made like the ponzi schemes, to us scam but I speak Nigerians who state it is not.
In the end the nation, like all nations, will eat itself because people are not able to make one front and fight for the same and even if they do they lack the knowledge how to build a better world and the result will be a bigger mess if there are still people left.
To the best of my knowledge, People are fighting against it but it just seems like a never ending cycle. When you think you have finally fished out the culprits new sets springs up. It’s like a hydra headed monster.
Because of the laxity in our government, foreigners have started leaving their countries where they know they have stringent laws to come to Nigeria to perpetrate their fraud. Recruiting our Nigerians who have interest in fraud to work for them.

I am not so sure if foreigners give up everything because Nigeria is the place to be corrupt if it comes to that every country has its corruptcy and idiots that can be used for scam, drugs, child, women and organ trafficking. The rich, wealthy are never the suspicious ones and the idiots are the sheep taking the fall. A hydra headed monster in a loop it is and the solution? There is none. Wars,different wirlds (East x West) proved that it takes generations to change attirute and the will to work hard is one which is hard to adapt especially if blindfolded by the promises of a nonexvusting world (the greener grass next door).
As long as we fight within one family, our neighbours there's no uniting, making one front. If it comes to it it is instinct to fight what our instinct sees as the enemy._
If it comes to the link.. I can't tell this is true, worse than elsewhere, I doubt it. Good propaganda it is for "justice". A peep in the brains of "journalists" and ministers just like those ended up in crime might be interesting (food for the next horror?). The last words said are for sure not said by someone with a high IQ and knowledge of economics and how to get a country out of a crisis. A crisis the entire world is in because of a few rich families. A direct solution? No internet for the country.
Work? I would say the old fashioned way: clean up the environmemt, build roads, do tepairments and stop wrecking the place. Everyone can work and if you want the state to pay taces of 30% might be needed, taxes over houses, cars, animals like we have, aforced health insurances for everyone, small families and everyone at work like we all did after wars and still do. Communism might save the country and dictatorship since the people are not willing and able to make that change.
P. S. The remark about a few good IT-ers going into crime and this scam wouldn't happen if they had a job I find a joke. A gew would be in this case over 500 people! On the other hand the article says the Nigerians aren't smart enough and the Chinese did it (of course the world's enemies are the Chinese and Russians unless we need their products and the benefits they bring us). Why employ a "great" IT-er? Also, why are skilled IT-ers (frequently introverts) hired to make phonecalls to the US and Europe to play the lover boy or salesman?
The government can better give a teaching job to Chinese. They know how to work, make an income and survive without big families and help of banks. Learning to plan and make sacrifices can be lesson 1.
