I have a confession to make - I can’t stand reading article intros, and I am increasingly of the opinion that everyone else hates reading article intros, too. So when I was tasked with writing today’s release notes, my first thoughts went to how I could possibly write an introduction that didn’t consume you with boredom.

Yeah, I see you scrolling past this section - thinking to yourself, “Cut to the chase! Get a move on! Get to the meat of the matter. Step on it! Shake a leg. Ándale! Pronto!”

Well, we live to make you happy, so let’s dive right in. We can all breathe a sigh of relief and get ourselves a pan-galactic gargle blaster as we welcome the long-awaited EOS mainnet to the list of supported assets. Along with EOS, you’ll find some sleek new design updates and sidebar streamlining.

This Ain’t Our First Rod(EOS)

EOS fans, kick up your heels! We are excited to give EOS a warm welcome to Exodus. You can now send, receive, and exchange EOS in Exodus. Now that is some good news.

Want to hear the even better news?

If you registered your EOS address in Exodus, all you’ll have to do is upgrade to this release and your EOS will automatically appear in your wallet. For those of you who missed EOS registration, you can also get your dancing shoes ready as we’ve got you covered, too.

A word to the not so faint of heart who’ve already put on their electric thumbs and hitched a ride to EOS ecosystem. Activating your EOS mainnet wallet in Exodus will automatically search for your EOS account name and unstake any staked balance, down to 2 EOS.

Don’t Panic.

Worried you’re going to miss out on the fun? Don’t panic. To create an EOS account on Exodus, all you have to do is make a quick exchange for EOS.

Knowing Where One’s Towel Is

As all of us know, any man who can navigate the length and breadth of the crypto galaxy, rough it through the bear markets, struggle against all odds, and still know what his RAM/CPU usage is, is clearly a man to be reckoned with. So be sure to get the low-down on all of your EOS account details and check out the Advanced Drawer of your EOS wallet.

New, but Not Entirely Unlike

The beloved backup section is going through a bit of a facelift. Whether you have already gone through backup or it’s your first time around, you’ll see that the Backup tab has a new streamlined look.

Sidebar Tweaks

In previous Exodus releases, your balance on the Portfolio tab would show up twice - both in the sidebar and your Asset Wheel. This release, we've kicked redundancy to the curb! Your wallet balance will no longer be displayed when you're viewing the Portfolio tab. Also, the Exodus logo text will make itself scarce to pave the way for your balance when in other tabs.

Zaphod Breeble(bugs)

It wouldn’t be a true release without a few squashed bugs! This week’s bug was mostly harmless and just led to some frustration when trying to export a Safe Report. From now on, the Export Safe Report button is back in action.

Good news! I'm glad you added eos. Kudos

Thank you! We hope that you enjoy all of the new additions and changes! =)

Great news indeed. But, from long time ago I wonder:

  • ¿Why Steem is not included in your wallet yet?

  • ¿Is there any significant technical difficulty to do so?

  • If is so, can you throw some light on the matter?

I noticed you've been on steemit since July 2016 and again I wonder:

¿It's not about time to know a bit more what your plans and efforts are to also incorporate Steem & SBDs within exodus assessment's portfolio and further crypto jugglery?

Hey @por500bolos , these are excellent questions! Although we have had an account on Steemit since 2016, you'll notice that we only became active just over 4 months ago, I believe, and made our first blog post. I'm unsure as to why the platform was not utilized since the beginning, but there are quite a few fellow Steemians that are part of the Exodus team currently who wanted to bring the page to life!

As many of us at Exodus are Steemit members, we wanted to revive the Exodus page and start sharing our content here first over Medium. Our release notes and articles were being strictly shared on other platforms, and we felt that Steemit was a much better place for them.

Why is Steem & SBD not in Exodus?
There are two main hurdles right now with implementing support for STEEM and SBD in Exodus. The first is that one of our main listing criteria is exchange support and with our recent partnership split from ShapeShift, none of our current exchange partners support STEEM. The second was integrating a DPOS asset. Since Steem is much different than a bitcoin-like or ethereum-asset, there were some technical challenges in incorporating STEEM and having it operate like every other asset in the wallet. Now that we have tackled integrating EOS, we should have more of an idea as to how STEEM would operate in the wallet.

I hope that helps explain and answer your questions, and please feel free to reach out to us if any new ones arise. =)

What are the next tokens and coins you are planning to add to Exodus? Great patch btw

We like our releases to be a surprise, so please check back here every two weeks on Friday's to see what new assets and features are coming to Exodus!

silly question, once the refund timer has lapsed will I be able to manage how much I could stake with Exodus under the EOS advance menu? Would there be an issue staking all of our EOS holdings?

Hey there, that's an excellent question! Advanced features such as staking, voting, and interacting with Dapps are not functions that are currently supported in Exodus. If you would prefer to fully stake your EOS, manage airdrops, or interact with Dapps, we would recommend using a wallet such as Scatter or EOS-Voter.

Aww, I would prefer to have Exodus as my main wallet. Will these EOS features eventually come to Exodus as the EOS blockchain matures? I could imagine it's too early to say for now

Hey Kitty! Sorry for the delay in my response.

I would agree that it is still a bit early for us to say whether or not this functionality will come in the future, but it is most certainly a topic of discussion at Exodus and on our whiteboard of potential future additions. =)

Thanks for your support! =)

Hi, so glad to see you supporting EOS mainnet now in your wallet. I'm a really big fan of Exodus!

I registered my EOS (ERC-20) tokens outside of Exodus and have been managing my account through another wallet (SimplEOS). Prior to this version, I would still see my old ERC-20 token balance in my Exodus wallet, but understood that it was essentially meaningless. Now if I upgrade to this newest version (haven't done so yet), should I see the same account balances that I'm seeing in my SimplEOS wallet? And if so, will there be any unstaking issues with which I need to be concerned?
