My name is Douglas, and I created cXc Music, a platform that enables people to find music recorded nearby, and helps artists meet and collaborate with other artists.

We started the Wavvy Music Accolades (or just Wavvys) as a way to give props to top-notch authentic music that has somehow remained underground.

The word “Accolade” means a recognition of merit.

Wavvys are a correction from the current model of music awards, which seem to applaud commercial success with more commercial success once per year.

Instead, the Wavvy Accolades recognize a single work in four categories, every single week. We only choose from tracks with under 100,000 plays. Genre, mood, subject matter, and even release date aren't taken into account.

Wavvy’s only stated criteria for picking pieces is “creative authenticity”. That means we are looking for new and exciting ways artists let their authentic selves shine through.
