Merry Christmas Dear Steemians
Christmas in Australia is a unique experience due to its timing which is the peak of summers. Here are some points that make Christmas different in Australia. As I said, Christmas in Australia falls at the beginning of the summer holidays, it is common for people to go camping, visit the beach, or have outdoor activities.
We visited a beach on the first day of my vacation on Saturday, 23rd of December.
If you want to read about that check it out-
Incidentally, the day before yesterday, while coming back from the beach in NSW, we stopped in a midway town for a few minutes because we saw a decorated park on the roadside, and I took a couple of pictures.
When we were coming out of the park, a kid came running to me and told me very innocently.
He said, "Jesus did not create Christmas, but Santa did."
I was so surprised that I kept looking at his face for a few minutes before replying and agreeing with him.
I said, "You're right, son." He was so happy that he gave me a sweet smile and walked away. I later thought I should have taken a picture of that sweet kid.
While some traditional Christmas symbols like Santa Claus and Christmas trees are similar to those in the Northern Hemisphere, there are also unique Australian traditions, like most people walking in their beach shorts and feeling for Santa.
Most of my friends feel how the heck Santa will tolerate wearing fur and all while going out to give gifts. Some funny people say Santa should use kangaroos instead of his reindeer.
We in Australia decorate our houses and gardens with Christmas trees, lights, and sometimes native Australian plants like the Christmas bush, but the emphasis is always on gifts.

I did not find any Christmas carols in malls this year, but candlelight carols are popular, with local bands and choirs performing Christmas carols and songs in different public places, including malls.
Christmas lunch is a common tradition, with hot and cold dishes, including fresh seafood, due to the summer weather. So we stayed at home and enjoyed the preparations that we had planned to eat at Lakeside.
I must say that overall, Christmas in Australia is a blend of traditional customs like Westerners do and unique Australian traditions, reflecting the local climate and culture.
