I fully agree with this one! Watching a video when text is available - text you can skim, review at will, memorize, or skip - seems insane. I've had to endure so many YouTube tutorials where people mumble and talk about their cats for five minutes before rushing past the one thing I'm eager to learn. Just write the steps down, please!
Video has great potential to be an engaging medium, but that's not what most folks are using it for.
Some exceptions: demonstrating how an engine works, how to change the oil in a lawn mower, hands-on repair of a washing machine - YES - please take me through it in a video (just don't block the camera with your own ass).
But for computer how-to, opinions, and news? Text every time!
