Modern-day Romeo and Juliet?

As an old school romantic, reading stories about "honor killings" like these actually baffles the mind, and only increases one's curiosity to "Critically Think" about the question below...

Is it not true that love for fellow humanity should not be restricted to the product of Indoctrinations of Pride/Ego/Colour/Creed/Cultural/Religious/Financial differences... Especially since we (humanity) are not but a race of "nomadic" like children of mother nature?
Why should there be boundaries to whom One is allowed to be in love with but yet there are various other crimes that have not and cannot be restricted nor stopped by actions of Honor Protection/Movements e.g:

• Deforestation
• Water/Air/Land Pollution
• Illegal land Occupancy/Settlement
• War for Profit
• Allowing the existence of the current Fractional Reserve lending system
• Taxation

We should not have to resort to barbaric rituals where "Killing" is the only means to resolve trivialties.

This world we live in is meant to be Our Home...not yours, mine or their's...its OURS, symbiotic living is something that we've lost touch with not lost yet."
