Avoid paying Coinbase fees to get Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin
Coinbase is a very popular place that allows people to start with the Crypto world and offers a nice interface and integration with different banks or cards but it is EXPENSIVE!!
For example it costs $4.90 on fees to buy 1 ETH
You can avoid these fees using GDAX (which uses same credentials as Coinbase) following these steps:
1 - Login into GDAX - https://www.gdax.com/ It uses the Coinbase credentials
2 - Select the market E.g LTC/USD
3- Click Deposit and select the source. If you already have money in Coinbase you can select it and deposit the USD from there.
4- Buy Your Cryptocurrency on GDAX With No Fees entering a limit order
So as simple as this you can save a lot of money in fees. Hope it helps you.
You're missing a step. You need to click on 'Advanced' under 'Limit Price' and check the 'Post Only' check box as well. If you don't do this, you may still get charged fees, depending on your limit price and the timing of things.
