Career Role-play

It's a great pleasure to participate in 2nd week of SLC Season 23. I was unable to participate in the first week, so I tried hard to avoid missing this one.

I would love the following Steemian to also participate in this role-play challenge, @okere-blessing, @dequeen, @bela90 and @ruthjoe

Task 1

What was the type of role play you chose for this activity, why did you choose it?

For this exercise, I am choosing a job simulation role-play. And my 5-year-old daughter will be simulating the role of an Engineer.
My daughter's career day will be next month, and she selected engineering as her career choice.
I had started getting her props for the event which is a role-play in itself.
I believe she selected engendering because she is looking up to her father as a role model, and I would be ok if she finally decides to become an engineer in the future.

For me, this role-play is a fun way of nursing her interest in the field of engineering. Helping her overcome the stereotype associated with women in the male-dominated engendering sector.
If she can start early in her development of a career path, she will focus her attention on developing skills that support her career goals.

Task 2

What characteristics differentiate your characters from their own personalities?

In real life, my daughter will disassemble everything she can lay her hands on. She is good at taking things apart and not knowing how to get them back together. After scrambling the Rubik's cube, she can't fix it back, and the next thing she does is to pull it all apart.
In her role as an engineer, she is expected to repair stuff. To assemble parts or constructs that bring concepts to life.

Task 3

How did the child feel during the activity? Were you comfortable participating?

She was excited to put on the hard hat, and belt with the miniature tools attached and dangling from it. She was especially fond of the hammer and good enough, it is made out of plastic. She tried it on everything around the house.
I was equally fascinated at how she expressed her love for it, so I played the role of her client, telling her what I would love her to make for me.

Task 4

She shares everything they did during the role-play, their experience, and how they felt. 2 points

She had to put on the engineering outfit, get into the character and interact with coworkers. They all worked on a project that involved cutting with a saw and driving an imaginary nail into the wood using are plastic hammer 🔨.

The career role-play was a success, I had a good time, and so did my daughter. She is still eager to get into that coverall, and here we are, putting on the engineering coverall and getting ready to switch characters.
