Yeah here it's started in a snowy weather :D And I'm going indoor anyway for the most part, so I'm gonna start organising myself while my light is on its way. Still I'd like to throw a few autos outside, so I can check what they can do early in the season... but it's time to scale down a little bit, so I'm trying :)
I have some clones rooting out now, that will end up being planted in giant planters in my yard. It is a lot of fun to have trees growing in the backyard & so so easy till the fall 🌳
Ya, Seattle area, The temp drops, the sun hides, the rain falls, & the wind blows by the middle of September. It’s really hard to make it past the middle of October without full blown water logg. Still, outside in the fresh air is still my favorite way to grow 🌞
Yeah you're around 47N there and you have oceanic influence, which is probably quite damaging to late flowering. I'm around 45N myself, but my microclimate is different. I have more African air than you do :D
Hmm have you found any strain that does well in these conditions? I also have to battle high RH, sometimes as high as 95% in October, but I grow stuff that doesn't really have a problem with that :)
Nothing that’s been a world beater. The ayahuasca purple did pretty well last year in a couple different spots. Other than that nothing has been really great.
I am very curious what you have had success with in 95% humidity???
There are strains actually, which need very little effort to thrive with these RH spikes. However, you need to make sure they're gonna finish on time first, which is by TRIAL & ERROR method!
Now I live in the valley, where climate is quite mild - unless you have a late snowfall like now :D - and there's very little wind here, so when it rains it gets really humid!
But my mould problems start around October (I've never experienced any mould in September)... rarely before 2nd-3rd week, but I've had some earlier cases.
ATM I stick to my Ultra Dog, which is a private strain (I wrote about it as you might remember) in F2-F3, so very unstable.
But it's an early finisher, which will is ready by 1st week of October IN WORST CASE, and it just doesn't catch mould or so little of it, it doesn't really matter. It's also a world class bud due to absolutely stunning mix of genetics.
However, these strains are rare as most of the breeders focus only on THC content, which is stupid and shortsighted, but that's how it is.
But I can recommend a few publicly available strains I grew or heard only good feedback from OUTDOOR growers.
First one is definitely Delahaze (Paradise Seeds). She comes down around mid October, but that will depend on the latitude obviously, and yields very well.
Bud scores 7-8 points usually, so you're getting quite good quality too. I've had a grower from Florida, who said it was one of those strains he was very fond of for its mould resilience... but I never grew it myself, so you have to take it with a grain of salt.
Two strains that did very well in my climate though, and both were grown in extremely humid season - it rained all the time except September - were Orient Express (Vietnam Black x China Yunnan) by Ace Seeds and Trainwreck from HSO. Particularly, Trainwreck was a quick finisher ready by 3rd-4th week of September, and was completely mould-free.
Ace Seeds has also Bangi Haze a well-established sativa hybrid (Congolese Black x Nepalese Highland), that is supposed to be a fantastic cultivar for humid climates... but the high is very electric, so not everybody will like it.
And if nothing else works go old school and get some Biddy Early (Early Skunk x The Warlock), that's been developed for outdoor in Holland, and still does the job!

I guess that's when the mould starts talking in WA, right?
