RE: Science For Growers: Understanding NPK

in #cannabis7 years ago

Great read again @conradino23. NPK is an important concept to get your head around no matter what your crop choice is!! An important thing to keep an eye on with store bought ferts is also the Sulphur (S) levels as they can mess with your PH! (Im sure you know that but for any of your readers that dont :-)

I agree that getting what NPK means is crucial. Personally I don't buy chelated or synthetic nutes, but others do and they should be able to read the label. Sulphur is actually an interesting one in cannabis growing, plants usually demand more of it in mid to late flowering, however good organic soil will have it in abundance.

Yes true, you have a lot less to worry about when dealing with o.m I with you!! you must make some tasty product if you are sticking to organic foods.
If you havent already check out Jeff Lowenfells books: Teaming with microbes is a great read!

I think my stuff is pretty good considering I've sent it all over the world to get feedback, and I never heard anyone complaining. And it was also from people growing #highbrix stuff, which to me represents the highest quality on the market ATM :D Yeah organic produce is hard to beat if you can tell the difference obviously :D I read Lowenfells's book with great pleasure. At least he knows what he's writing about, which unfortunately a lot of cannabis gurus don't. He followed that up with Teaming with Nutrients, which I need to get actually :)

Yep Teaming with nutrients is an intense read if I hadnt studied Horticulture I would have been lost haha. He also has Teaming with Fungi which I am yet to read.
