Tivat, place for living

Tivat in Montenegro - is a quite interesting place.

At least for me, as for a person who prefers nice quiet places with normal infrastructure and opportunities for outdoor recreation, in general a convenient place to work.

There is an airport here, and this is one of the two international airports in Montenegro. The city itself is small and not prominent - quietly stands in the lowlands by the sea.

There are no big streets, very few modern multi-storey houses, there is no ordinary city bustle and the pace of life in general is rather rural, and here there is a sea with beaches at your side - and it does relax.

Historical buildings and monuments are very few - there are remains of a fort or something like that, near which there are two ancient cannons on half-rotten wooden carriages, Naval Heritage collection museum, a magnificent three-masted ship at the pier, a pair of old small churches ... and in general, that's all.

I think that for these reasons, many tourists simply do not notice Tivat, or they have some disdainful attitude towards him. But to me it seemes a good place; you just need to join this rhythm, to change yourself a little.

The pearl of the city is the modern marina "Porto Montenegro". It is a brand-new story, but on a historical place and all is made very competently.

New quarters surrounding the pier, they still seem not very alive - apartments, boutiques, restaurants; such an outward gloss and chic that still they have nothing authentic, but everything is done competently, conveniently and if things go well, the place will become really good, it will overgrow, so to speak, life.

The most wonderful thing you can think of right now is, in good weather get a takeaway coffee, a photocamera and go for a walk along the embankment, take pictures of beautiful yachts and glare on the water.

But here you need to know that part of the marina, the one where the superyachts of the super-rich are, in the side where the huge historical crane, which is now the decoration of the territory, is not allowed to photograph: the guard comes out and nervously gesticulates to your camera.

However, and without that corner there is a chic nature. So, I recommend!

And yes, in the vicinity of Tivat there is much to see - secluded medieval villages on the slopes of mountains, churches, chapels, Austro-Hungarian military roads, their forts hiding in remote places, olive groves, beautiful views from the peaks of the surrounding mountains, as well as nearby the cities of Kotor, Budva, Herceg Novi to which it is easy to get. A lot of beautiful things!
