RE: 🎨 "Heavy Metal" - a not so heavy way to frame a painting

in #art7 years ago

The "rhino" was undoubtedly one of my most unusual pieces ever.

Very interesting interpretation of the last one. Hehe.. Aphrodite on the reef is funny. But she was born from the see, if I remember correctly, right?

Hm.. hands and middle fingers... looks like a psychologist would have to say something about you for seeing that in there, or for me painting something without consciously being aware of it. Which, according to my ex wife psychiatrist is actually "worse" :-b

Thing is, as much as I like your approach, the painting is about "Agnes Bernauer" a woman who lived here in the 15th century and her position in society. I edited my post and added links to older posts with more info about the corresponding works...

Yes, Aphrodite was seaborn :)

Oops! I guess I should consult a shrink fafter my interpretation :P
This woman's life sounds really tragic. I could not tell it was a ring from this picture. The details look so much better in the original post. For some reason I love her golden hair!

I had my focus on the frames in this post, so yes, a lot of detail from the artwork gets lost. Stupid me takes it for granted, that everyone knows my paintings the way I do... that's why I thought later, it might be a good idea to add the links.

You obviously found it. Yes, very tragic story. Her hair was one thing she was really famous for, but it also played a role in her dreadful end. When they murdered her in the river Danube, it turned out, that she knew how to swim. The evil duke ordered a helper to take a long stick, entangle it in he hair and push her under water...

I did a large artwork (3x4m) on her life when I was very young, consisting of more than 30 individual paintings. I need to get some decent photos and maybe make a post of it. The central painting shows that terrible end. But she held on to her to the last moment...

Her story definitely needs a Steemit tribute.
It is just sad how barbaric people can be. And how people lost their lives just because others had the power to take it away.

I would love to see the complete artwork and I'm sure I won't be the only one!! :)

Of course, I agree with you and I will make the post sometime soon. Plus I think things haven't really changed. If you are in the way of those in power, they will find a way to get rid of you... maybe the methods are a bit different :-/
