Poetry - Freedom

The sound of the rushing waves
breaking on a rugged shore
Creating imagery of exploration and the deep ocean floor.

Shimmering dunes and sand-swept beach
footprints disappearing as the high tide washes them, out of reach
Dreams forgotten dreams ahead
Create vivid pictures we are yet to tread

A smile from a child at play
Joy embodied makes our day
Love unconditional, love not earned
Creates peace of mind
like a flower unfurled

Self acceptance, freedom to choose
Life spent not living in others shoes
Family and friends create that puzzle
like a soft fuzzy blanket
We like to nuzzle.

God loves us and draws us near
His love is unconditional
we need not fear.
Creating in us a heart that is pure
So we can the ills of this life endure.
