My Thoughts On January 2025

Greetings everyone, my name is @geegirl, and I'm from Nigeria. This is my first time here, and I believe I'm welcome. I'd like to extend my gratitude to the organizer of this contest, @saintkelvin17.

Each day in our lives holds memories, whether good or bad, that shape the story of our lifetime. As the scripture says, "Give thanks to God" regardless of the experiences we face.

And I quote;
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV) "In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

This scripture encourages believers to cultivate a spirit of gratitude, giving thanks to God in every circumstance, whether good or bad. Please stay with me as I share my January thought.

For most people, January represents a fresh start – the first month of the year, a time for new beginnings, and an opportunity to set goals and make plans.

January was a challenging month for me. I met someone in October 2024, and we had been talking on the phone since then. As time passed, I developed feelings for him due to his kind and responsive nature.

In early January, I decided to meet him in person, hoping to establish a friendly friendship. However, our first meeting was brief, and we didn't get to talk much.

Despite the initial brief meeting, we continued to communicate over the phone, and I enjoyed our conversations immensely. His voice brought me joy and happiness, and I felt like I had finally found someone close to my heart.

But things took an unexpected turn. During a video call, I shared my screen with him to get his help with something on my phone. That's when he stumbled upon an old photo of me with someone else – someone I had known long before him.

Without giving me a chance to explain, he assumed the worst – that I was cheating on him. His past experiences had clearly left him wounded, and he wasn't willing to listen to my side of the story.

I tried to explain, to provide evidence that the photo was from a long time ago, but he wasn't interested in hearing me out. I acknowledged that I shouldn't have kept the photo, but I had simply forgotten it was there.

Unfortunately, the conversation ended with him making assumptions about my character, and it's been difficult for me to move past this experience.

For me, January was particularly tough. The month left me feeling drained, and I'm still struggling to recover.

As for my plans for February, I had sincerely hoped to achieve a long-held dream of mine: opening my own personal fashion house. This venture would not only allow me to showcase my creative skills but also provide an opportunity to empower others by sharing my knowledge and experience.

Furthermore, having my own fashion house would give me the freedom to be my own boss, allowing me to strike a better work-life balance. I would be able to take breaks and rest when my body needs it, which is essential for my overall well-being.
