Today I am very happy to be able to participate in a contest held by Mr. @solaymann. I am interested in participating in this contest and in this context I want to publish a unique traditional food from my area, namely klepon.

Tell us about the recipes you make.

This klepon cake is one of the traditional foods that has existed since ancient times. This klepon cake is very unique, starting from its round shape with palm sugar filling inside and coated with grated coconut on the outside, making this klepon cake very special and is in great demand by people in various circles, both adults and children.

This klepon cake is made from sticky rice flour. This klepon cake is identical with the color green, but now this klepon cake has been modified a lot, starting from the taste to the color. However, today I will make klepon cake with a mixture of butterfly pea flower tea which is rich in benefits. This flower tea will produce a beautiful blue color and is also rich in benefits.

butterfly pea flower klepon ingredients:

100 grams of butterfly pea flower tea
15 tablespoons of glutinous rice flour
brown sugar to taste
Two pandan leaves
grated coconut



How to make



  • First step: Take 100 grams of butterfly pea flowers then brew with 100ml of hot water until the color changes to blue, then set aside for a while until slightly cool.

  • Then after it has cooled, pour it into the sticky rice flour gradually. Then stir evenly with a spatula. After everything is mixed evenly, knead with your hands until the dough is smooth or there is no dough sticking to it.

  • The next step is to take a little dough then round it and make a hole in the middle, fill it with palm sugar then round it again and do this until it is all used up.

  • After that, put all the klepon into the water that has been heated beforehand and add pandan leaves as an aromatic, then cook the klepon until it rises to the surface of the water. If it has risen, lift the klepon, that's a sign that it's cooked.

  • After that, put it in the grated coconut that has been steamed. Stir evenly and coat all surfaces of the phone with the grated coconut until it is completely covered. After that, the klepon is ready to be served.

The unique recipe of your post is just wow. I never thought that such a delicious recipe can be made with coconut. Sometimes we can't make the recipe because we don't know the skills even though we have the stuff. Seeing this recipe of yours has increased my experience.
