Dear @bambuka, since you have been asking for ideas and topics for further editions of your Post Processing competition for quite some time, I am coming around the corner with a small suggestion...

Some time ago I took part in another competition that @lllll1ll organised under the motto "Abstract Photography". My contribution to it, which I myself did not consider abstract in the proper sense, looked like this:

The accompanying photo, which I still like very much today because it reminds me of the situation in the quaint holiday home on site, my many spontaneous impressions and many beautiful experiences, shows something diffusely mysterious. Nevertheless, it was a representational photo and this unrecognisability was due to the lighting conditions and reflexions. By the way, no one had guessed what I had actually snapped ;-))

It was the bizarre and distorted reflection of a shining lamp in the corner of a room in otherwise complete darkness.

From all this came the following thought: perhaps a suitable theme for #x of your competition series could look like this....

Each participant chooses a photo from their own collection. It should be a representational motif in the broadest sense. By means of post processing, the image is changed or distorted in such a way that this original object is no longer directly recognisable. A picture puzzle is created, so to speak.

So the task is on the one hand to select and process one's own photograph into a mysterious art object and on the other hand to look at and decipher the riddles created by the other participants.

Maybe you like this idea, maybe you all like it? Then I am curious to see what you come up with. In any case, I'm looking forward to you, @bambuka, taking up the approach at some point and conjuring up something exciting out of it ;-))

Of course, how could it be otherwise, it's just a suggestion. I am also aware that I am still behind schedule with the current round. I will certainly try not to miss the deadline again ;-))

Lieber @bambuka, nachdem Du seit längerem nach Ideen und Themen für weitere Auflagen Deines Post Processing-Wettbewerbs fragst, komme ich auch einmal mit einem kleinen Vorschlag um die Ecke...

Vor einiger Zeit nahm ich an einem anderen Wettbewerb teil, den @lllll1ll unter dem Motto "Abstrakte Fotografie" veranstaltete. Mein Beitrag dazu, den ich selbst nicht als abstrakt im eigentlichen Sinne bewertete, sah so aus:

Das zugehörige Foto, das ich bis heute sehr mag, weil es mich an die Situation in dem urigen Ferienhaus vor Ort, meine vielfältigen spontanen Eindrücke und viele schöne Erlebnisse erinnert, zeigt etwas diffus mysteriöses. Dennoch war es ein gegenständliches Foto und diese Unkenntlichkeit den Lichtverhältnissen und Reflexionen geschuldet. Es hatte übrigens niemand erraten, was ich tatsächlich geknipst hatte ;-))

Es handelte sich um die bizarre und durch Spiegelschliff verzerrte Spiegelung einer strahlenden Lampe in einer Zimmerecke bei ansonsten völliger Dunkelheit.

Aus all dem entstand folgender Gedanke: vielleicht könnte ein passendes Thema für #x Deiner Wettbewerbsreihe so aussehen...

Jeder Teilnehmer wählt ein eigenes Foto aus seinem Bestand. Es soll sich im weitesten Sinne um ein gegenständliches Motiv handeln. Mittels Post Processing wird das Bild so verändert oder verfälscht, daß dieser ursprüngliche Gegenstand nicht mehr direkt erkennbar ist. Ein Bilderrätsel wird erzeugt, sozusagen.

Die Aufgabe besteht also zum Einen in Auswahl und Bearbeitung einer eigenen Aufnahme zu einem geheimisvollen Kunstobjekt und zum Anderen in der Betrachtung und Entschlüsselung der ebenso kreierten Rätsel der Mitstreiter.

Vielleicht magst Du, vielleicht mögt Ihr diese Idee? Dann bin ich gespannt, was Euch dazu einfällt. Ich freue mich jedenfalls, wenn Du, @bambuka, den Ansatz irgendwann aufgreifst und etwas Spannendes daraus zauberst ;-))

Ist natürlich, wie könnte es anders sein, nur ein Vorschlag. Daß ich mit der aktuellen Runde noch im Verzug bin, ist mir ebenso bewußt. Ich versuche ganz bestimmt, den Termin nicht wieder zu verpassen ;-))
